Man that must be nice. UCLA is asking season ticket holders if they'd be willing to pony up 3 times as much to pay for upgrades to Pauley, and Oregon
gets 100 million from Nike's CEO and he called on other boosters to contribute
as well.

About all I can say is how glad I am they stuck with Ernie Kent and didn't hire Montgomery, with a good college coach in that financial situation they'd be scary. They'll be good with kent this year (Losing Brooks hurts though) and they have a great class coming in for 08 and a new arena is only going to help recruiting going forward.

The interesting thing is Mac court might be the biggest homecourt advantage in the whole conference. It would be ironic if they pony up huge money to build a new arena and in the process take away some of that advantage.

But I suspect what will happen is a fancy new arena with great facilities, even more loud UO fans, and a real benefit to recruiting.

Golden opportunity for Oregon, I think it's clear the Galen Center has really helped USC.

Mac Court is falling apart, its over 80 years old, and almost evry home game they play it shakes and the fire alarm goes off.

That's what makes the games fun on tv. I've seen at least 2 games where they had to stop the game because the alarm wouldn't stop going off.

UCLA is trying to renovate Pauley, to be honest I wish they'd build a new arena but I don't think they have the kind of financing Oregon has with Knight.
