Two trades I picked up from Boston fans suggesting them on the realgm boards.

Jason Richardson and Leandro Barbosa for Ray Allen (expiring).

Steve Nash, Jason Richardson for Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Brian Scalabrine(expiring)

I'd do either. First one doesn't cost us much for the remainder of the season since Barbosa is out another 4 weeks anyway and Ray Allen is about the same as JRich. Basically the same thing as Barbosa and JRich for Tmac only that Allen is a safer choice.

Amare and Allen would combine for 36M$ in expirings this offseason.

Second trade would give us a defensive minded PG who can distribute to go along with a defensive unit with Lopez and Clark in the future and also gives us a lot of capspace especially if we can get rid of Barbosa for expiring contracts too.

Sign me up on either, but I wouldn't count on Amare walking on $17.7m, so we wouldn't be saving $36m - more like $18m. I would prefer option #2, but I would take either, AND we would still need to move Amare. That would be the absolute ideal. A backcourt of Rondo/Dragic sounds intriguing going into the future....

There is no way Boston trades Rondo and Allen for Nash and Richardson?

Would love it, but no chance. Then trade Amare for a decent young player/decent draft pick and start over.

In a van...down by the river.

I would do cartwheels in my underwear at centercourt in front of 20,000 fans if it would get this trade done.
Going forward with Rondo at PG would signify a much needed change in identity here.

...and I still think that Nash makes sense for Boston on a couple levels.

How pathetic!!!

Why is it that 2 out of every 3 deals we come up with involve us getting a player the Suns could have drafted if they hadn't sold or traded the pick.

Because of the new CBA in 2011, Amare and a lot of guys will walk in hopes of getting a contract with term on it. The new CBA will most likely limit the money/length of contracts.

And yes I would definitely do either one of those deals - would be surprised if Boston pulled the trigger though...

Well Boston fan suggested it, anyway in theory if we did the second I would re-sign Amare.

We aren't going to find another PF as good anytime soon and with him we would still be a young team as Amare isn't old, we would also have him surrounded by defensive minded players.

Rondo/XX/Clark/Amare/Lopez

Dragic/XX/Dudley/Frye/XX

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't we theoretically have a starting lineup of:

Rondo-Iguodala-Deng-Stoudemire-Lopez

Could it really have put it together like that (excluding shifting draft psitions due to season record)?

Actually we could have had Nash instead of Rondo and Rondo on the bench. And even if we didn't sign Nash we would have had a high lottery pick with all the other players still in place in a draft with Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

We couldn't have had Iguodala and Deng but Joe Johnson and Deng.

We could also have traded Marion for Camby if we had Johnson and Deng.

Yeah signing Q was totally worth it or letting D'Antoni make any personnel decisions (Banks, Rondo, Tucker...). Quentin Richardson was one of the worst FA signings in Suns history for the money they gave him. Maybe even worse than Penny Hardaway or Tom Gugliotta.

Actually the Suns thought Iggy was going to be gone by the time we picked so we sold the draft pick to the Bulls which ended up being Deng. So yes we could have had Iggy.
