Miami is looking for a point guard due to injury concerns over Jason Williams. I think Banks could be a good fit, where he can just play defense, attack the basket and let Wade do most of the decision making.
I think both teams would consider a trade of Banks and the Suns 2008 first round pick (top 20 protected) for Michael Doleac (expiring).
That saves them about 700 grande this season, plus another 700 grande in luxury taxes. There's also an outside chance he could get a few minutes on our team(albeit highly unlikely). The Suns would also have around 12.3 million dollars coming off the books next offseason (or over 29 million of Marion opts out, which is even less likely than Doleac getting minutes).
I think Banks is a Riley type of player who will actually benefit a lot more from that type of coach than he will from D'Antoni. Also, with Mourning having announced his decision to come back next year, Doleac is nothing more than an insurance policy. I think they need point guard depth more than center depth.
