I'm in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to copy and paste the article. It's from the slick Chicago Sun-Times which I believe is Sam Smith. If that's right we can take it with a grain of salt. It does make sense though. I believe the excerpt I read on Hoops Hype said they are "desperately" trying to trade him and $10 million left on his contract.

That article included 1 short sentence. Basically what hoopshype.com is quoting nothing more.

Rasheed Wallace for Tom Gugliotta, Jahidi White and a pick :)

Here is what it says..........

-------------------------------------------------------
The Suns are desperately seeking a way to dump center Jahidi White to get the $10 million that remain on his five-year, $25 million contract off their salary cap.
------------------------------------------------------------

Despirate may be too strong, but I'm sure they would be happy to move him if it did not cost too much in terms of picks.

If the Suns are truly "desperate" to clear the extra cap room from White's contract one year early, there can be only one reason.

:(

I hope this is just a throwaway line by some idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. Fortunately, the odds are on my side...

I suspect the Suns are actually shopping White, but the fact that this is coming from Chicago rather than Arizona suggests the rumors are at least fourth hand.

I think the only player the Suns are real desperate to move is Eisley. This useless SOB is quickly becoming my most hated Sun of all time(ahead of a certian australian).

That would be an accomplishment. :D

The weird thing about Eisley is that he used to be a pretty good player. His shooting percentages in Utah were quite respectable:

95-96 43.0% 22.6% for 3
96-97 45.1% 27.8%
97-98 44.1% 42.0%
98-99 44.6% 36.8%
99-00 41.8% 39.8%

After that, his shooting went below 40% for two years and his best year was 02-03 when he shot 41.7% but 38.9% for 3. This year his shooting was 39.6% in NY and only 31.1% in Phoenix.

Obviously there is more to playing PG than shooting, but the rest of his game has not been especially impressive either. He appears quick enough so it does not seem to be physical, but somehow his skills have eroded.

I certainly hope that he can get it together, because he will be much harder to dump if he doesn't.

Boy, I would have never guessed that he was shooting that poorly here. I was actually thinking that he is a decent, backup point guard.

Surprising how quickly people turn on players. It's like the guy never left New York!

It's not only his poor shooting, but the fact he can not run our offense. He is the only person that does not push the ball up the court, he doesn't seem to look for Amare or JJ in half court sets. He is also a TO waiting to happen. I would most likely complain about his D too if I ever saw him play any.

It's been only 5 or 6 games! My God, you're sounding like a damn Laker fan expecting the guy to be assimilated into our offense so quickly! Remember, he's spent his career in Utah and New York, two systems VASTLY different then our own.

I never liked the prospect of playing Eisley. If he turns it around and starts to play well I'll admit I was wrong and be happy the team has another capable player. But I won't hold my breath.

We're a quick study. :D

Seriously, I think he will improve (considering where is now, that is not asking much), but there is little doubt that opinions are colored by his awful contract. I cannot figure how his agent got him this contract because his numbers were never THAT impressive. At his peak, I can't see how he could command more than about $2.5 million.

Man, contract complaining seems to be the #1 pasttime now on this board. It's becoming so that if you DON'T complain about a contract, you're "odd".

Yes, he's got a bad contract. But what exactly can you do about it? The point is, you have to look at what you have. I guess it's a habit--Shawn, Eisley--they've both become the new Penny Hardaway. Right, Joe? :D

I was never as anti-Penny as many people and I have generally been considerd "pro-Marion". My problem with Eisley is not just his contract, he just has not played very well since coming here. I would love to move him over the summer to clear cap space and to make room for Vujanic. It's pretty hard when he is so unproductive.

Please notice that I haven't said anything about Shawn Marion's contract since our discussion the other night. Of course it helps when he is putting up games like he did last night against the Blazers. :)

I'm not going to complain about Howard Eiseley's contract because the Phoenix Suns did not give it to him. They knew he had a bad contract when he came here from New York, but they had to take him to get the deal done. If they can move him without having to give up too much that's great. It's going to be difficult though. But I honestly did not think he had been doing that poorly.
