From RealGM, disclosed by the t-wolves moderator that conducted the garnet trade rumors over the summer. He doesnt mess around but does admit he has yet to confirm it.

I was given this in a PM today. It is from rubechat so it could be crap. But the guy sites a phx station. I have tried to text some people but have got nothing. So I thought I would post it here and let you guys play with it.

Again, I am not claiming there is anything legit about this, but it could be.

Trade Rumor out of Phoenix today
AM radio today in the Phoenix was running with this potential trade involving Memphis, Minnesota, and Phoenix. Rock and Manuch admitted it was a rumor they had heard out of the Suns front office about them exploring this idea, but they've explored it enough that there's names and actual picks identified.

Phoenix would get...
Mark Madsen (3/yrs @ $2.42)
Rashard McCants (2/yrs @ $1.7)
Mike Miller (3/yrs @ $8.3)

Memphis would get...
Marcus Banks (4/yrs @ $3.9)
Alando Tucker (2/yrs @ 931K)

Marko Jaric (4/yrs @ 6.05)
#1 from Phoenix via Atlanta in 2008
#2 from Minnesota in 2008 and 2009 OR possibly a future #1 from Minnesota

Minnesota would get...
Boris Diaw (4/yrs @ $9)
Eric Piatkowski (1/yr @ $1.2)
Kyle Lowry (1/yr @ @1.0

#2 from Memphis in 2009

It's no secret Kerr wants to unload Marcus Banks contract and Diaw has fallen into D'Antoni's doghouse for good. But they gets offense in return in Miller and McCants and also get to unload salary again now that it seems they are going to resign Marion. Madsen also provides some defense and rebounding, when Amare is out.

Minnesota gets rid of Jaric's salary and gets an experienced post and quality PG to team up with Jefferson and Brewer and what they said is Michael Beasley.

Memphis is the key here as they are taking on 2 perceived horrible contracts in Banks and Jaric, but want the draft picks and Alando Tucker. Also what's interesting is they are basically getting 3 guards, but their hope is to land someone like Eric Gordon with their pick and Hibbert or Kevin Love with the Phoenix pick. Evidently Miller is becoming more of a pain than Gasol and they LOVE Tucker and some guy in Italy that is coming out supposedly (Galinari)

I still don't know why they'd take on Banks and Jaric contract and become a guard heavy team, but they must love Tucker. But evidently there's been some talks as.
......

I still don't know for sure how Memphis gets better other than getting rid of a bad attitude in Miller. But the Suns get a consistant shooter and MN gets some size and settle the PG situation for the future.

Hmmmmm....

PS - Don't kill the messenger, just saying what was on the radio today.
To break it down

Banks
Diaw
Piat
Tucker
ATL

For

Mike Miller
Rashard McCants
Mark Madsen

Alllegedly it was from the guys on 1060 AM. I dont listen to them. No word on KTAR this morning.

A salary dump that nets us Miller is A-OK in my book

Nash
Bell/Barbosa
Hill/Miller
Marion/Skinner
Stat

Thats a great 8 man lineup.

McCants would fill in when there are injuries at the 2. Madsen is junk and would play as much as Sean "Secret Weapon" Marks. Miller would rock faces and allow hill to rest without dantoni worrying about our offense when he is out.

Diaw and banks off the books gives us some nice wiggle room the next two offseasons if marion were to opt out.

We could also rock the most deadly 3ball shooting team in the league with

Nash
Barbosa
Bell
Miller
Stat(rebounds)

well....in all actuality this deal really doesnt do a whole lot for us financially. we save a few $1mil this season, and basically save ourselves the salary of the Atlanta Pick next season. and the year after that its another $1mil or so off the books.

but the talent returned is huge compared to what we give up.

Miller>>>>>>>>Diaw
McCants>>>>>>>>Banks

and the rest is really just throwin, except for the Atlanta pick.....which has almost as much value as a first rounder of our own now.

all in all, a steal and a half for the suns.

Wow! What a deal! Count me as ALL IN on that....

Frankly, it allows us to run Barbs and McCants at the 2 and maybe package Marion/Bell for a big, but I think I'd be OK with keeping Marion with that surrounding cast. I still want us to get a legit big to move Stoudemire to the 4 permanently....

Definitely do it. I get the feeling that the rest of the team is turning on Boris and he's becoming a cancer. It would help having guys that would stop appearing on the DS and actually care about winning a title.

I agree, has to be too good to be true. Gets rid of our two worst contracts and brings in one of the best shooters in the league, a talented young player, and, well, the league's worst dancer/rapper.

How about a follow up trade of Marion/Bell for Camby/JRSmith (or another DEN bench guy)?

Nash
McCants-Barbosa-Smith
Miller-Hill
Stoudemire
Camby-Skinner

A legit 9-deep. I'd wanna sub Smith for a PG, though. I don't know DEN's roster....

I doubt it happens. Would like to see McCants and Miller. Madsen is crap. Maybe thats why they played Banks last night. Kind of like, ok we'll give him some minutes so you can see he can still play. I don't know though.

I agree. This is probably to good to be true territory. However, I would say getting Madsen in return for dumping Banks/Diaw is a small price to pay.

This will never happen, but I would love for it to. Mike Miller in a Suns uni would be awesome, and McCants is a decent player. He could help.

In my mind, Diaw should be given no more oppurtunities. And can someone tell me how the BYC thing works? Is he tradeable yet? etc.

basically his contract counts as half its value going out, but full value for the team taking it.

so lets say the suns want to trade ONLY Boris right now. his outgoing cap figure is $4.5mil. so we can only take back salary equal to $4.5mil + 125%. the team we are trading with has an incoming cap figure of $9mil.

its not possible because of CBA restrictions, and that's why he has to be packaged with other players....to eliminate that $4.5mil hit that has to be made up.

jr smith=barbosa.

For a pg from denver you could ask for atkins or carter. atkins is a good 3-shooter while carter is a very tough defender.

i must say, if this trade is legit i'll be thrilled.

Great deal for Minnesota?!?!

They get Diaw and the Polish Rifle?

If its true, which I doubt Minny would have to believe that a change of location will return Diaw to his pre-Amare form.

I don't care how much Memphis loves Tucker, I just can't see this happening. Refresh my memory, was Iavaroni still around when they were doing the draft workouts?

They have to move Boris if he continues to sulk. What if he gets tuned out for good, holds a grudge and starts feeding secrets to Tony Parker or Turiaf in the playoffs?

that's probably the least of everyone's concerns, this isn't little league baseball.

Memphis gives up:

Mike Miller(3/yrs @ $8.3)
Kyle Lowry(1/yr @ @1.08)
2nd round pick

for

Marcus Banks (4/yrs @ $3.9)
Alando Tucker (2/yrs @ 931K)
Marko Jaric (4/yrs @ 6.05)
#1 from Phoenix via Atlanta in 2008
#2 from Minnesota in 2008 and 2009 OR possibly a future #1 from Minnesota

Why does Memphis do that deal? Why would they take on more salary and crappier players? I have to admit, the details are astounding for just a trade rumor. Either someone has a lot of time on there hands, or there is some truth to it.

My first thought exactly. Why in the hell would Minnesota consider this?
As a SUNS accountant, this is a blockbuster deal.
As a SUNS fan, personally, it doesn't excite me at all.
That being said, the SUNS would have to pull the trigger on this.
And follow it up with another deal that involves getting better on the court. Hello? Defense anybody?

defense, rebounding, and constant hustle from someone other than marion anybody? miller is decent defensively and a good rebounder at his position, by the way. i'm still a fan of a trade that brings us nene.
