If Nagy is the skapegoat, who was at fault? Was he in charge of the pitching staff (starters and bullpen) or just an assistant? An instructor?

The only consistency associated with Gibson was the starting rotation. Not the position players or bullpen.

This was on the GM for overpaying for head cases and over the hill arms. But the pitching coach takes the bullet so everyone else can keep their jobs.

Based on how the season went, it is not much of a surprise. I am a bit surprised that Nagy seemed to be getting a lot of positive attention/buzz in Spring Training.

What a joke. We've had some unheralded young pitchers like Corbin and Miley kill it for us, he has been handed absolute turds to work with in the bullpen, we blow money on dudes like Cahill and McCarthy and Nagy gets blamed...

I'm hoping he is. Matty has no more of a personality than does Gibby.

Personality is part of a manager's job. It takes more than inspiration by reputation of when he was a ballplayer.
