I have had New York Pizza, Chicago Pizza(many different kinds), Pizza in Wisconsin, Pizza in Florida, Pizza in California, Arizona, Nevada, and many many many other states to boot.

Ya know what they all have in common? They all taste like pizza!

I have had stuffed pizza, redbrick pizza, woodfired pizza, deep dish, pan pizza, thin crust, thick crust, sicilian, and any other type you can think of.

You know what they all have in common? They all taste like pizza!

Granted there are some pizza's that are better than others. Some places have shiddy pizza and others good pizza! But for the most part from my experience location in this country has nothing to do with it whatsoever!

In fact I would put Metro Pizza here in NV up against any pizza in the world. Real hand tossed dough, Fresh, packed with toppings, huge, Incredible sauce, no skimping and just fantastic!

So can we just please stop you pizza snobs with the "I just cant wait to get back to Jersey or NewYork etc.. etc... to get a slice or a pie or whatever your call it. Because all that is coming through is your regional bias. Its not where its made! Its who makes it! Pizza is freaking pizza!

OUT!

:D

...says the guy from Las Vegas (where they never say, "I can't wait to get back to Vegas to get me some pie"...or, wait...maybe they do).

Anyway, I think the STYLE of pizza has a lot to do with it.

Wow. That was quite a long rant about pizza. I'd hate to tick you off about something you REALLY cared about. :p

And I stand by MY OPINION, which I am totally entitled to. :D

BTW, someone new had bumped an old thread about pizza. I reread it and saw that Donald had requested that that thread and the one I started over a year ago be merged since they were on the same topic. So, that's what I did, which is why it's now longer and at the top of the page.

No one's really talked about the topic for months except the dude who bumped the thread and YOU, Mr. Non-pizza-snob, lol. :)

There's good pizza to be found everywhere but the thing is you have to find it. In Florida I found 2 places I really liked but there wasn't much consistency from restaurant to restaurant. There's a pizza place around the corner from me that I like and go to all the time. In places like New York, it's all good.

Here's another can of worms: cold pizza sucks. Pizza is meant to be served warm and should not be eaten straight out of the fridge.

From my time in AZ as a poor college student, Hungry Howies was the best. Here in the land that time dumped on, Albuquerque, Pudge Brothers is my favorite. So anyone stopping in on a weekend crapfest must try it. Cost is low, but product is great.

So. I think that the sauce makes the pizza. What do you guys think?

Are you a cheese, sauce, toppings, or crust type?

Yep. Must have sauce. I like it to be a little tomato pasty.

Soft-boiled eggs on pizza rule!!

There's gotta be flavor in the sauce or the pizza sucks. Too much cheese is overkill.

Never tried soft boiled eggs on pizza. May have to try that sometime.

If the pizza has ham on it, the egg is even better. Too much glueey cheese is nasty.

I'm more of a "they all have an equal say" kind of gal, but sauce is lowest on my list. If I had to order them, it would be crust, cheese, toppings, sauce.

I was watching Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives the other day and they went to a pizza place in Seattle that serves chili-cheese tater tots pizza with green onions.

I can't wait to go to Seattle to get a slice of pizza. :p

Ugh. Once in the Bay Area I ordered a breakfast pizza. It had ham on it and a poached egg on top. Based on the description, it was not really what I was expecting. :thumbdown
