any LBs out there Mitch??i saw the Steelers cut OLB/ILB Rani Wallace..and also C Chukky Okobi

Do we honestly need another OC.

Now if we could swing a trade of Leckey to another team knowing all the while that Okobi who is a UFA will sign with us, then that would be a great plan. But since I dont think Okobi can play anything but C he has no place on the team at this point in time. Although Grimm is said to really, really like this guy and was his project while there in Pitt. To much money spent on the C position already.

Glenn is 5-9 and 35 years old. He is an OLD 35 having played for 14 seasons. He is done. The grass is not always greener in this case. He also got beaten pretty badly on the long ball while playing his nickel role the last 2 years in Dallas.

Petitti was dropped by Dallas becuase he gave up 14 sacks. 8 penalties, and was a liability in the run game. He was only active for 1 game all of last year and will be on his 3rd team in 3 years. I would rather stick with Badger.

Terrance Pennington RT out of Buffalo. 2nd year player, started 9 games last year with one penalty and 2 sacks allowed. Buffalo ran better to the right side then they did to Gandys left side last year I believe. He is so far the only guy that looks intriguing to me. Good project for Grimm and they probablyh already have tape of him after looking at Gandys tape in the offseason.

And Pennington's from UNM.

Carolina cut Kenyatta Walker. He'd be the best OT depth on the team and maybe better than Gandy. (although Gandy did play better than expected so far.)

Anyone know about CB CJ Wilson of Baylor that the Panthers cut?

Cincinnati: LB Earl Everett
Cleveland: CB DeMario Minter
Buffalo:C.J. Ah You
Houston: CBs Tyrone Poole and Dexter McCleon
Indianapolis: LB KaMichael Hall, CB Antonio Perkins
Kansas City: CB Will Poole
Tampa Bay: LB Jamie Winborn

So this is how our list is shaping up.

TE Marcellus Rivers
TE Courtney Anderson
ILB/OLB Rian Wallace
OT Terrance Pennington
OT Kenyatta Walker
CB Evan Oglesby
DE Mkristo Bruce

seems like we can fill some holes and add some depth with this group of players if we can get them through the waiver wire

EDIT:we should get most of them because we are 5th in the waiver wire line

Walker is GARBAGE.....a penalty machine

honestly, one of the WORST drive killers I've ever seen. The facemask, and illegal hands to the face is his specialty

TE/OL Chad Mustard was cut by Denver (blocking TE)

Saints released rookie QB Tyler Palko (played college at Pitt). I could see Whiz bringing the lefty in for the #3 QB spot. He's a gritty lefty with wheels who was very popular in the Pittsburgh area.

Go Cards/ America!

basically, as guys are released, we should collect a list of guys that could potentially fit the system

so far, I've seen NT Babatunde Oshinowo who could be a 3rd guy behind Watson and Branch (325 lbs)

If this team signs another DT I am going to ask for a refund for my Sunday ticket.

CBs Dante Wesley and DeJuan Groce are out there--

both veteran corners.. Dont know if they are better than Ralph Brown

finally, can we give up on the Oshinowo talk--this is his second camp he has been cut from -- just cause he is 325 doesnt mean he can play

I'm perfectly happy with out DT depth as it is. We have 2 quality NTs in Watson and Branch and 2 good penetrators in Dockett and Cooper.

Do you think Leckey is tradeable? I don't see it...

IF...I said IF we decide to get a third QB how about Tim Rattay, he'd be a great 3rd string guy, not someone we'd want to rely on as a starter but a decent QB with some experience and he's from the Phoenix area.

Tyler Palko got cut by NO. He had a really good #3 or #4 preseason game, showing he can put points up on the board. (Perfect PS (#3a behind Q) candidate.

Hey if the likes of Fitzpatrick, Alvin Pearman, and the various other players that teams got draft picks for yesterday can do it, why not Leckey?

Still dont think it would happen though.

but he was a restricted FA that was tendered at 1.3

that tender becomes guaranteed once he signs it (which he did)

if the cut/traded him now, they'd take a 1.3 mil cap hit

no -- that $1.3 mm was salary

guaranteed only to the extent he makes the team, or, gets injured during camp and has to go on IR

Normally that would be true but not for a RFA. It is gauranteed if he is cut, but he can be traded without a cap hit.

But trading for 1.3 Mill is trading for a lot for just a backup and in that case not comparable to the players I brought up as they only cost 370K.

I've been looking around for confirmation, but google turns up nothing....I was always under the impression that its like a franchise tag, where once the contract is signed, you can't just cut him
