Normally that would be true but not for a RFA. It is gauranteed if he is cut, but he can be traded without a cap hit.

But trading for 1.3 Mill is trading for a lot for just a backup and in that case not comparable to the players I brought up as they only cost 370K.

so if they just cut him, they would take the hit, but if they trade him they dont?

I've been looking around for confirmation, but google turns up nothing....I was always under the impression that its like a franchise tag, where once the contract is signed, you can't just cut him

You cant just cut him but you can trade him. Its just a NFLPA tool to keep teams from putting a RFA tender willy nilly on a players to limit his FA opportunites only to cut him later. Just a way to make teams more responsible with the RFA tender.

Glad We're Not GM's

There were dozens of names posted, as to who the Cards would/should add, and as far as I could see no Moses or Urban.

Which means...

Nothing.

Except that, as fans, we (a) weren't aware of all the cuts that came down (many of them announced as late as possible) and (b) we're not as tuned in as the scouts and coaches to the (favorable and unfavorable) nuances about each player.
