LOL -- MFY are DOOMED!! They have Brian Bruney warming up to come in after a Tiger flurry of runs.

Bruney has been nothing short of fantastic for the Yankees in the regular season.

Well then, there's one more who leaves our clubhouse and excels elsewhere.

The first two games today were a bit of a surprise, but this one is pretty much what everyone expected.

How much money did Zito make today?

Twins/A's: The go-ahead runs scored on an inside-the-park HR. But, as is using the case with an ISTPHR, someone made an "error."

The hitter hit a simple single to center. Torii "There's No I In Team But There Are 2 In My Name" Hunter got a late break on it and decided to dive anyway. He wasn't even close and it rolled all the way to the wall. I've always thought mental errors (diving when you have no chance, overrunning fly balls, etc) should count as real errors.

Dodgers/Mets: The Dodgers just got 2 guys thrown out at home...on the same play...with one throw! Kent was tagged out trying to tag the back of the plate then Drew tried to score when LoDuca's back was turned.

Crazy plays all around.

Yeah on BB tonight Eric Byrnes was commenting on how the ball took a bad jump and he missed it. Clearly from watching the video several times, he simply got too late of a jump and missed it by several feet. It then bounced behind him and went clear to the wall. I also was amazed to see him just sit on the field on his hind legs and watch it roll away...
Sounded like Byrnesy was just trying to politely cover for him to the camera.

Not looking very good for the honor of the NL West, now is it? I sure would like SD to rally and bump off LaRussa.

Oh man, Tigers are leading 7-0 with 3.5 innings left(3 innings for Yanks). Yankees are almost eliminated!

It's sweet that they are not only winning, but are kicking the snot out of the Yankees too.

The A's-Tigers series could be a real barnburner.

Yep, That should be a very good, competitive series. Looking forward to it!

I was really hoping for the Padres to pull it out. Now, sadly, I'll be rooting for the AL in the World Series. Both the Tigers and A's would be great stories.

I'm tired of the Cardinals and don't like the Mets.

It's hard to see how the pitching of the NL squad could possibly match up with the AL winner. No matter the combo. But, crazier things have happened in the World Series.

Time for the Evil Empire to slink back to the home planet (NYC) and rebuild.

WOW was that an amazing nab by Endy Chavez? Rob a two run homer AND make it a double play -- THAT'S Playoff baseball!

That catch was sick and what exactly was Edmonds doing so far on the base running? It wasn't as though Roeln was right on his heels since Rolen looked to be in full HR trot.

Just think if Chavez had come through on his bases loaded AB in the bottom of the inning. I half expected him to just for the drama of the thing.

Dang, come on Mets -- I used to like the Cardinals, but I just can't stand LaRussa.
