More to come after the late games.

As before, we still control our own destiny for the playoffs. Get to 10-6, and we’re in.

At 9-7, to avoid being caught from behind, we would need one more loss each from MIN, CHI, DET, and SNF. This would include games currently in-action (DET and SNF). We can hand SNF that loss ourselves. MIN still plays CHI and DET. At 9-7, we would lose all tie-breakers to MIN, CHI, DET, and SNF. We do have additional options should a team in front of us totally collapse.

At 8-8, things get messy. Will update later.

At 7-9, not surprisingly, it would be extremely difficult, and would be mathematically impossible if SNF beats WSH, currently in-action.

We definitely have to run the table.

This thread should be pinned imo with updates when necessary.

No, we don't. Min and Chi play each other. Chi has a game against Green Bay with Green Bay likely needing to win for bye and #1 seed. Min plays Saints who will need win for a bye.

Min and Chi will definitely lose at least one each. SF will lose today and we should beat them.

Win 2, we are in.

Another way to look at it:

If we are destined to finish 9-7, we would need four of the following:

MIN loses 1

CHI loses 1

DET loses 1 (down 28-14)

SF loses 1 (down 23-7)

TB loses 2

SEA loses 3 (up 40-3)

LA loses 3

GB loses 4 with MIN winning 3 and other things happening (up 28-14)

Falcons lose. I believe this mathematically eliminates them from playoff contention (I know, shocking). First in the NFC, I think

That is why I am focused on CHI and MIN.

It's not going to matter what TB, Seattle, etc, do. DET and SF are not in my picture. CHI and MIN play next week, there is one of those losses. Then, the other team losing one of their last two. Chi plays JAX and GB, MIN, NO and Det. I think MIN winning next week is better for us.

49ers lose. There goes another one. Updated — We now need 2 of the following if we finish 9-7:

MIN loses 1

CHI loses 1

TB loses 2

SEA loses 3

LA loses 3

The Vikings and Bears still play each other. If we’re getting greedy, a tie would satisfy both requirements.

I’m thinking you’re right. Outside of a tie, a Vikings win over Chicago may actually be better. We also have additional outs against MIN in a tie at 8-8, but not against CHI.

Going 9-7 basically we are in the playoff

Obviously will take the playoffs anyway you can get it.

Man...the Saints would be a tough matchup. Rather play the Packers (if we got in)

I know we've had a lot of luck vs. the Packers in the past but they scare me a lot more than the Saints this year.
