With only 10 regular-season games left to play, the Houston Rockets (46-26) remain at No. 2 in the Western Conference standings, and they've won nine of their last 10 games, overall. However, their margin did narrow after Sunday’s home loss to the No. 3 Denver Nuggets (45-28).
With that in mind, our latest episode of The Lager Line (hosted by Ben DuBose and Paulo Alves) breaks down what to watch for down the home stretch of the 2024-25 season. The Rockets are rapidly approaching their first NBA postseason appearance in five years and the team's first playoff basketball in Houston since 2019.
So, are the young and improving Rockets ready for the big stage? Discussion topics include strategies for Houston to get back to its elite defensive play from earlier in the season; questions surrounding the usage of Fred VanVleet and Tari Eason; a debate of whether extended “double big” lineups are worthwhile; and a scheduling breakdown of where the Rockets stand relative to other West contenders.
Tuesday’s podcast, which is sponsored by Clutch City Lager of Karbach Brewing, can be listened to below in its entirety. Each episode of the show is also made available via flagship radio station SportsTalk 790 and all major podcast distributors under “The Lager Line.”
