for freaking sure. Guess that's the difference between a country boy from a small school and a hollywood celebrity before even taking a snap in the NFLI was referring to attitude, not statistics.

agreed. I love Kurt Warner, and appreciate everything he did for this franchise, but Peyton Manning is likely the best QB in my lifetime, possibly ever. I would love to have him in a Cards uniformTo get a HEALTHY manning you spend whatever it takes! That would make us a contender and if he healthy he has a few years left! If he becomes available they should do whatever it takes to get him period.

Let's say come the end of February that Peyton Manning is cleared by doctors and deemed 100% healthy to continue his career and Indy is looking to trade him. I doubt Indy takes anything less than a 1st round pick. If you're the Cards would you give the #13 overall pick for him? Or do you wait for Indy to release him? Trading for him eliminates the competition and guarantees you get him, which is always a good thing with the way the Snail handles free agency. The downside is you absorb his contract and give up your first round pick. The upside is you just became very strong NFC contenders for the next 3-4 years.
Peyton is to much of a risk and would cost to much. Who would not want one if not the best QB ever to play football? Sure I would like him but not for $27 mil or so with a neck fusiion. He is not going to sign for one year and a 3-4 year deal is really a monster deal considering what we just paid for Kolb. If we had not taken the 62 mil Kolb contract we would be better off and might afford what Peyton would cost. I just do not see Peyton coming to the Cards. He wants a ring and his signing will be more about a ring than money.
30 points? That would have been a feast for us. The Cards went over 21 points only 5 times and scored less than 21 in half the games averaging 19 a game! They only averaged 18 a game in 2010.
Goofy Cardinals. Scored 27 points or more only 3 times in 2011 and lost two of those games.
OT: How the heck did the Giants make the Super Bowl ranking 25th in points allowed in 2011? Just goes to show that in today's NFL Offense sells tickets and Defense doesn't win squat.
Because their defense finally got healthy at the end of the season. Remember that they had like 5 injured defensive backs at the beginning of the year. They got Osi and Tuck healthy at the same time over the last bit of the season.
It should be that offense gets you into the tournament, but defense wins Championships. Both Green Bay and New Orleans are going to be watching the game from home this year. San Francisco may have won if they'd managed to be as healthy in that NFC Championship game as they'd been this year.
Seriously: if San Fran regresses back to the mean w/r/t injures next year, they'll be lucky to win 8 games. They were basically at full strength almost all season--kind of like us during the Super Bowl run four years ago (so long ago...).
The Giants also faced a brutal schedule of offensive opponents. Unstoppable-early-season Buffalo, New England, New Orleans, Green Bay, Dallas (twice).
The real question with the Giants is how they lost to the Washington Redskins... twice!
However the Giants averaged 27 points per game in the post season. New England 34. The Giants scored: 35,37,29 and 31 points in the 4 wins at the end of the season they needed to make the playoffs. Offense.
it was VERY close to seeing 2 teams dependent on their defenses facing eachother in the SB insteadYep
I'll take a great QB over a very good defense any day in todays NFL & I'm 100% sure I'll win nearly 70% of the time. IMO there's no such thing as a great defense anymore! Look at the last 8 Super Bowl winners...all QB's are stars & soon to be 9.

true. But there's a lot of star QBs in the NFL that will be watching from home on Sunday as wellwe didn't & like I said it will soon be 9yrs in a row a star QB wins the ring.

very true. But chances of winning it without a solid D are just as remoteonly 1 gets to wear that ring
Chances are pretty remote you will when a title when your team doesn't

lol, like you said, only 1 leaves with the ring. And that was the team with the solid defense...Hey! We came within minutes of winning the Super Bowl without a solid Defense.
He is still on track to play

With the updated news about Manning, I say the Cards go into camp with Kolb and Skelton and let them battle it out.
Well... the update of the update says he'll play in 2012.
