A popular pick in mock drafts for the Jacksonville Jaguars is Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, who had a noteworthy change between his NFL combine and Pro Day measurements.
After being listed at 320 pounds this past season at Michigan, Graham weighed in at the NFL combine at just 296 pounds. For some context, that ranked in the 26th percentile among defensive tackles that have gone through the NFL combine.
However, at his Pro Day, Graham clocked in at 306, according to ESPN's Jordan Reid.
Whether Graham is 296, 306, or 320, it's not the be-all-end-all by any means. However, for a player who doesn't have the size or length as some defensive tackles with 32-inch arms (12th percentile) and standing 6-034 (59th percentile), weighing in at 296 is at least noteworthy.
With that said, the tape and production from Graham make those measurables less of a concern, and he's still going to be a top-10 selection.
Last season, Graham recorded 34 pressures and five sacks while being one of the best interior run defenders in a few different categories, according to PFF. While Lance Zierlein's scouting report highlights his impressive play style.
"Three-technique who provides activity, effort, strength and quickness. Graham’s first-step quickness makes interior disruption inevitable. He has the instant read and response to regularly beat lateral blocks. He’s stout at the point of attack with great leverage and body control but will lose some ground against double teams. Graham’s lack of length makes it tougher for him to find quick wins as a rusher, but he more than makes up for it with his activity level and foot quickness."
It's easy to see why Graham is a popular pick for the Jaguars in many mocks. The team has a massive need at the position and Graham is considered the top defensive tackle in this year's draft.
