To Steven Wilson one of the greatest. To those who don't know, he started up this band as him being the only member, a while back and made a few CD's just by himself. And eventually turned it into his major project. They have a new CD "Dead Wing" coming out soon.

"Shallow, the first US single from Deadwing, is now available for download from the following online vendors:

Sony Connect
BuyMusic
Napster

The track should also be available from iTunes shortly. "

I stole it from somebody at a forum called mx. Primus rules, still need to get frizzle fry and many others.

Porc Tree is possibly the greatest relax rock ever besides.

Also if you like porcupine tree you should check out Opeth's "Damnation" No growling vocals at all in this cd

okay - update...

checkout this site: deadwing.

first you have to put the puzzle together in the area provided (it's a lighter color than the rest of the background). then you get access to the site. once you get to the next page there is a link called Sinking Unending - click that. you get a video trailer of the new album. it's got song snippets of the disc - Shallow sounds awesome!!!

Nah, i haven't heard shallow yet. Is it a song from the CD? If so, i'm not goign to listen to anything from the CD until i have the whole thing in my hands. Also I hear that they made a copy of this JUST for surround sound.

it is a song from the cd - but the little that i heard was about a 10 second snippet and i excited over just that much.

yeah - they did a regular mix and then a 5.1 mix of the album - should be sweet!

My dad just installed surround sound for us. The 5.1 mix is all he can talk about.

Thanks for the recommendation guys......

I can now officially claim to appreciate Porcupine Tree...

I finally was able to check them out and I must say "Shallow" is amazing and I hope to come across more of their music..... They rock!

Edit: I usually try not to judge a band based on just hearing one song, but that has to be one of the heaviest songs I've heard in quite some time and whenever a band "rocks out" like they did on "Shallow" they must certainly deserve appreciation on that fact alone.....

Just got Fear of a Blank Planet. Simply amazing. This could very easily end up their finest album to date and maybe my pick for album of the year. I'm a huge PT fan so I'm a bit biased though. For those of you who've only heard the last few releases, don't expect it to sound too similar. The highlight of the album is the 18-minute epic Anesthetize.

This CD gets constant burn in my rotation! An absolute masterpiece!

When I long for the growls and the dichotomy of folk and death, I pop in Blackwater Park - another masterpiece....

Opeth friggin rules you!!!!

Opeth >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> You

Yeah, Warszawa and also XM are really good, and I don't ususally like live albums. From their earlier work, I especially love The Sky Moves Sideways and Voyage 34. I never liked psychedelic rock until I heard those albums.
