This list isn't scientific for sure but if it is, do we open up the check book and bring a legit RB here or do we still throw in with Ellington and get someone who compliments him? Here are my preferences:http://nfltraderumors.co/2015-nfl-free-agents-list/

Steven Ridley-I don't think NE will try to sign him back. They have a backlog of running backs, all of whom perform well for them but that could be a combination of the great system Belichick runs and a very, very good offensive line to run behind but I think Ridley can be had. The one drawback is his health.

Darren McFadden-He has injury issues for sure but he's relatively young and is a north/south back we can use. He, too can compliment Ellington well.

Mark Ingram- Now I don't see New Orleans letting him get away but I believe he can be a feature back and is only 26.

CJ Spiller-The younger half(albeit 30) of Buffalo's 2 headed attack. I think he can be a great compliment for Ellington for a couple of years.

Justin Forsett-Now here's an interesting prospect. Not a feature back but he can bring to us what Sproles brought to Philly this season.

Those are a few. I know Murray is also on the list but Dallas isn't letting him go anywhere. Ryan Matthews is a little too injury prone and fumble prone for my tastes, and Moreno I think will stay in Miami.

I'd take a flier on Demarco Murray :D

It sounds impossible but with Adrian Peterson potentially returning to Texas, hey, who knows. Actually, with our cap situation... nm it's pretty impossible :stick:

This is a compelling list... but the only one I like is Ingram, and like you said, unlikely to be available.

We need a big bruiser to compliment Duke and perhaps KW. All the others on this list are good, but too small and/or injury prone. Ridley is interesting but has a case of fumblitis that apparently is incurable.

Honestly, (and I may get laughed at this) the one guy we don't have is the gotta have it thumper. The guy on that list that will absolutely get you two when you need two (and he will get it) is Matt Asiata.

With the Peterson issue, I don't see Minny letting him go. Also, I think he is restricted as well. How about Gore? SF might be in a transition period, however he might be too expensive. One player not on this list who is available is Rice. I don't think I'd take him.

I don't think much of free agent RBs. I think you can do just as well in the draft and with UDFA. I hope we look at other positions in free agency which are harder to find quality contributors than RB. Which is, basically, almost every other position.

For example, who are the free agent TEs this year? What about OGs or Cs?

If you click on the link I provided you'll get your answers as that site lists all positions. For example, tight ends:

Julius Thomas but he isn't going anywhere.

The only guys that interest me are Asiata, Moreno, and McFadden. Asiata has been surprising with his pure power, and I think the other two have talent that has been hamstrung by poor situations.

Otherwise, just draft someone. I don't want anything more than a close to the minimum back, just someone to complement and spell Ellington.

Thank you sir.

Looking at that list we are going to have issues trying to retain some of our best defensive players this year: Kelley, Acho, Cromartie, Williams, Foote and some backups.

Honestly, I don't think we are going to add much of anything in free agency regardless of position.

How is Denver able to afford Peyton, Ware, Vasquez, Clady, Talib, Harris Jr, Sanders, DeMariyus Thomas and Julius Thomas?

I don't get it.

Don't want Ingram. He's a perfect contract year wonder and had done nothing prior to this year.

Lynch, or draft one is the way to go. This is a strong year for RB's in the draft.

I really like LeShoure coming out of Illinois. He's had some off field issues though.

I like the backs we have, and possibly draft more of a bruiser this coming season in the mid to late rounds to compete for a spot on the team... I do not like our interior of the OL, that is the free agent list we need because drafting a rookie OL could get a gimpy Palmer in trouble

And Go Big Red, the playoffs are in the present baby!

A couple thoughts

1-the Saints are in cap hell, and they like Thomas and Khiry Robinson. I am guessing it is likely Ingram hits the open market.

2-A one year contract for Lynch wouldn't be the worst idea.

3-It is a really good draft year for RBs, and I'm guessing we take a look there. It is a cheaper way to build a stable of backs.

I think you are pretty much spot on expect for McFadden. I think he is a failure who will never live up to his expectations.

A stronger inside runner to compliment Andre is definitely a huge need. I like Taylor's all around game but he has no explosion. From that list I like Ingram or Gore. There are a bunch of RB's in the draft I would love to add. Mike Davis is a guy that is being overlooked but would be great for our offense. He could be available in third round.

I think anyone looking for a "complement" to Ellington needs to face the reality that Andre Ellington probably isn't a feature back. He can't block, and he's not dependable to be productive on 11-15 carries a game.

I hope the Cards find a mid-round guy that they can pay for peanuts and platoon him in a specific role, which has been their plan.

By compliment I do mean a guy that can take atleast half of the teams carries. Ellington is only a special player when he is 100%. He will be more effective getting 15 touches or less per game

I like RB T.J. Yeldon Alabama in the draft. Could be taken in the 2nd round. Big back at 6'2" 220 lbs to compliment Ellington.

Ick. Buyer beware on Alabama running backs. Great offensive line in front of them and heavy, heavy college workload.

I see the Cardinals drafting potentially TJ Yeldon in round 2 or David Cobb in round 3 over a significant FA signing at RB unless the market bottoms out.
