The first four selections all have the potential to be very special NFL players at there respective positions. Leinart could very well be the most talented college QB the Cardinals franchise has ever drafted. If he came out in the 2005 draft he probably would of went #1 overall.
TE L.Pope has the potential to be something at TE the NFL has never seen before. I watched some of his games and nobody matches up with his 6'8" frame and he doesn't go down easy.
I dont know much about the USC guard but he was projected a 2nd round pick and played versus top level talent each week meaning he could be a week 1 starter similar to DT G.Watson- who can take over games when he wants to.

Amazing Draft by Rod and Denny. I always wear my Cardinals gear but honestly I am now extremely proud to do so!

Go Cards/ America!

This team has more talent and depth than I can ever remember. Its time they start showing it on the field.

You won't know how good it is until two years from now.

Everybody bags on the 2003 draft, but I recall we selected a kid named Boldin the 2nd round and Wells in the 6th round. The two first round picks that year (Pace, Bryant) were the real debacle.

No excuses anymore in the desert. Now lets go get some wins!

yeah, good draft. I dont mean to be the spoiler, and I will always be a card fan (sometimes its unfortunate), but I dont care what they are doing so much right now. Dont get me wrong, they are doing a very good job, and it is hard to say they arent making very good decisions, because they are. None of this means jack s*** to me come september. We have some play makers on this team, guys who dont care about anything but getting out there and winning (Boldin), I just hope everyone else jumps on this opportunity, coaching staff, the trainers, for god sakes special teams... I will reserve all predictions and how good we will be's for lets say, weeks 6-8. I am tired of being let down. Bottom line is, we ALWAYS get an A+ on draft day, even with Mac we did. Pittsburgh a few years ago had a "horrible" draft. I just want to get through all this hoopla, take some asprin and get to bed at a decent time. I dont want to see us hung over come sept because we signed edge. What if he blows his ACL come wk 2? JJ better have it going. Like I said, the draft is merely intresting really. We need the 2nd string guys ready to go. The injury bug didnt just crawl up our ass last year. Its a year in/ year out thing. The good teams have their back ups come in and perform at a satisfactory level. Our starters go down and we are like "wtf do we do now?" oh well, hopefully so. Dont worry, I have season tickets, I will be there either way. On the brighter side, our depth has never looked better.

Baloney.

We rarely got A's on the draft since Denny came here. In 2003 they were saying that was one of the worst drafts that they have seen. Also When we picked Eric Swann we got a D and every year we were either graded out to a D - B for years and the past three years we got A's

Honestly, this draft rivals the '04 draft in terms of talent and potential starters. Way to go Graves and Green, you've hit one out of the park again.

I like that Matt Leinart fell to us in the #10 position. I also like the selection of Pope at TE, that should help immensely in the red zone, coupled with a viable threat in James in the backfield.

Other than that the rest of the draft didn't do much for me. Gabe Watson has potential to plug the gaping hole in our run defense on a rotational basis with Clancy.

I guess my disappointment level sank in when the Eagles jumped in front of us again to select Winston Justice. That smells to me. I would like to know if the Cardinals would have selected him or Lutui if both had been on the board.

We have this mass collection of unproven guards in our stable and a glaring deficiency at the RT position should Oliver Ross continue to stink up the joint.

I wish the Cardinals were more proactive when it came to the draft instead of playing the hand they are dealt. If Winston Justice was a guy they would have liked to have why didn't they do like the Eagles and trade up to get a 1st round talent in the second round instead of sitting back waiting and hoping he fell to us like Leinart did?

But I won't get to down, the Cardinals got their QBOF and I was thrilled with that, but it wasn't because of anything the Cardinals did, they just got fortunate that he dropped down to us.

They can have Justice or people with character issues. If you take enough of them eventually it will come back and bite you, we dont wasted picks like Boston. Instead we have a guard who by some was rated as the top guard in the draft, is very enthusiastic about being in his home town, and should help the running game. I too am wondering about right tackle, but surely Green must have some plans for that.

I LOVE the following picks:

Leinart
Latui
Pope
Watson

The rest of our picks are confusing though. We didn't address the safety position. We should've tried to grab an OT (unless maybe they Cards think Latui is a tackle?) as well. Maybe even a center. WR doesnt seem to be a need position, but I guess they want to use that kid as a return man? Picking up another DT seemed a bit odd too, but I guess its for depth.

Anyway, maybe their are some good UDFA's out there we can nab

If Leinart's a star like I think he is and the rest of our picks are average,
WE ARE A PLAYOFF TEAM!!! I have not been this excited since we drafted
Neil Lomax in round two. Barring major injuries we are fixing to be deadly.:D

Would have liked to have seen a little more focus on our "O" line, but overall, happy with the draft.
