He wants to pass T.O. on the all-time best WR list and trail only Rice.

His reworked/extended contract has an incentive which pays him something like $500k for reaching that milestone (heard on the local radio show this morning).

He is a stat guy and loves the history of the NFL. He knows where he is currently ranked and, I believe, he wants to move up a little more before stepping away.

Personally, I feel he could play a few more years...and, depending on how things go next year, maybe he will...

I think Larry was coming back all along regardless of the decisions from BA and CP.

It would be VERY shocking if Larry walked away after this past season.

So conflicting. My favorite athlete of all time. Cant imagine seeing him wear any other uniform or not being on the field for the Cards,,,, but the thought of Larry coming back to a rebuilding team with no QB kindof makes me sad. Hopefully we can make the moves to be competitive and not have it be a totally wasted year.

One of his best years as a receiver was with Skelton, Kolb, and Bartel as our QB trio.

Is it me. Or does it seem Fitz who has 109 catches and 1100+ yards. Isn't used enough. Lol. I mean he probably realistically should have 130 catches because we seem to not throw to him when we need to. Dude just catches the ball

I think the Cards knew that BA and Palmer we're both retiring, and that's why Fitz was offered the extension for 2018. They want to do everything they can to keep him 1 more year and give him the full spotlight he deserves.

had the same thought. Pretty sure the BA and Palmer decisions were made 2 months ago

BA said as much, when talked about how easy his decision seemed 6 weeks ago, when the season had gone to crap.

God I hope so otherwise we are pretty much hurting at w r with John Brown not the same, I do like the other brown though. Let's say if fitz leaves should cards draft a wr at with one of there two picks.... not the ideal scenario

even if Larry stays IMO we need to use our second round pick on a WR

Totally Out of Left Field prediction:

Cards trade David Johnson for a high, draft pick.

They use the pick to draft Barkley RB from Penn State

Fitz returns to mentor Barkley (who,is said to have a Fitz personality)

And, oh yeah, we draft our QBOF at #15.

Jeff - How high a draft pick? And then, what if Barkley is taken before the pick? Too much of a gamble!

That would be insanity to trade the best player on the team! Please don’t even think of that!

Why swap David Johnson for Barkley? Doesn't make any sense.

Now David Johnson part of a QB blockbuster I could see happening.

Fitz will be back because Fitz IS the Arizona Cardinals (plus he's gotta like the money).

I predict he will be back precisely, for the reason everyone else things he'll hang it up, he will have a NEW HC and I am willing to bet, looking at this team, that new HC is going to play target Fitz... a LOT.

David Johnson will be a tremendous Cardinal (already is) but he will NEVER last long enough to be the new Fitz unless in the next couple of years he transitions to almost pure WR (which is actually, a good possibility. If he does that, he has a shot at being the post-Fitz Fitz, meanwhile we need Fitz and he needs us ... he can be number 2 in EVERY WR statistic and have hit it ALL with the same team... even #1 didn't do that and no other receiver will EVER do it again).

If this is the case then I think it was criminal to not go hard after Jimmy G. We have seen him play against us..... The price was much lower than the cost to trade up in the draft.... And we needed a QB/Coach combo!!!

We could have then turned around and had a McDaniels (HC) and Flores (DC) combo.

I really don’t think either of them gave Keim and time to figure out a best course of action.
