Mar. 19—HARTSELLE — Hartselle picked up its first area win on Tuesday, breezing past Muscle Shoals 9-1.

TY Marsh led the way with three hits and three RBIs, while Cruise Baker had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs.

Jace Meadows picked up the win, allowing four hits and one run with nine strikeouts.

Hartselle moved to 10-5 on the season, and the Tigers will continue the area series Thursday at Muscle Shoals with a double-header.



Athens 8, Decatur 7: John Lawrence Chittam, Brady Johnston and Hudson Marks each had two hits to help Athens edge past Decatur in area play.

Trey Greenwell had a monster game for Decatur, finishing with four hits, three RBIs and scoring three runs.



Lawrence County 5, West Point 3: Tripp Engle had three hits and scored three runs in an area win for Lawrence County.

Caden Norwood added two hits and an RBI.



Brewer 11, Guntersville 5: Nathan Butler collected four hits and four RBIs to lead Brewer to a win.

Dane Homan added four hits and three RBIs.



West Morgan 7, East Lawrence 1: West Morgan scored seven runs in the sixth inning on Tuesday to pull away with a win.

Colby Jones and Conner Rikard each had a hit and two RBIs for the Rebels. Reece Hamilton led East Lawrence with two hits.



Hatton 7, Red Bay 4: Canaan Speegle had two hits for Hatton, while Pierce Wilson added a hit and two RBIs.



Lindsay Lane 18, Tanner 0: Lane Jones and Wyatt Wallace each had three hits and an RBI to lead Lindsay Lane.



Elkmont 15, Asbury 0: Bentlet Curtis had three hits and two RBIs to lead Elkmont.

Jake Guthrie added two hits and three RBIs.



Clements 15, Columbia 4: Brady Turner led Clements with three hits and two RBIs.

Hayden Tucker added two hits and two RBIs.



Lauderdale County 5, Decatur Heritage 4: Despite outhitting the Tigers 9-7, Decatur Heritage suffered just its second loss of the season on Tuesday.

Bryant Sparkman led Decatur Heritage with three hits and an RBI.



Russellville 9, Priceville 3: Priceville led 3-1 going into the final inning, but Russellville scored eight runs to steal the win.

Ethan Sherwood led the Bulldogs with a hit and two RBIs.



Randolph 10, West Limestone 6: Jarron Meredith had two hits, three RBIs and scored two runs to lead West Limestone.



Winston County 12, Falkville 8: Denver Comstock had two hits, an RBI and scored three runs for Falkville.



Scottsboro 3, East Limestone 2: Chris Fitts had a hit and an RBI for East Limestone.



Meek 4, Athens Bible 3: Luke Murrell had two hits and scored a run for Athens Bible.

Athens 8, Hartselle 7: Lily Lowey hit a walk-off double in the ninth inning on Tuesday to lead the Golden Eagles to a win in what was a rematch of last year's Class 6A state championship.

Lowery finished with four hits and three RBIs, while Amaya Green added two hits and an RBI. Zoe Hitt led Hartselle with three hits and three RBIs.



West Limestone 17, Randolph 0: Lily Bethune and Haley Waggoner each smacked two home runs in another dominant win for the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Both players finished with two hits and four RBIs, while JuliAnn Kyle pitched a four-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 batters.



Decatur Heritage 9, Falkville 5: Allie Tidwell led Decatur Heritage with four hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Savannah Sims had three hits, an RBI and scored two runs. Hannah Summerford led Falkville with three hits and two RBIs.



Priceville 14, Brewer 3: Kelsey Green homered and finished with three hits and five RBIs in a big win on Tuesday.

Lucy Warren added two hits and four RBIs, while Elizabeth Murphy had two hits, including a home run, and an RBI.



Hatton 4, East Lawrence 3: Ava Lovelady had three hits and two RBIs to lead Hatton to a win over its rival on Tuesday.

Brianna Oliver added three hits and an RBI.



East Limestone 6, James Clemens 5: Grace Bielat had three hits and two RBIs to lead East Limestone.

Presley McMunn added two hits and an RBI.



Ardmore 5, Madison Academy 4: Skyler Jean had two hits and two RBIs to help lead Ardmore to a close win.



Lindsay Lane 11, Tharptown 1: Leigha Carder led Lindsay Lane with three hits and two RBIs.



Athens Bible 10, Shoals Christian 2: Hadley Robinson finished with two hits and three RBIs to lead Athens Bible.

Brooke Blakely had two hits, two RBIs and scored three runs.



Good Hope 8, West Morgan 1: Zoey Brewington led West Morgan with two hits and an RBI.



Rogers 11, Clements 1: Carly Nave had a hit and an RBI for Clements.



Golf



Decatur 178, Priceville 169: Decatur's Chase Henderson shot a 40 on Tuesday to help lead his team to a win.

Priceville's Sammy Holmes shot a 37 and Collier Beverly a 40.

For the girls, Priceville's Leah Childress shot a 44 and Ella Hudson a 45.
