The Suns play at the Mavericks today with a 5:30 p.m. Arizona start time. See Paul Coro article at azcentral dated 10-21-15 for more.

Suns at Mavericks

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas

TV/radio: None/KMVP-FM (98.7).

Mavericks update: Coming off a 50-win, seventh-seed season, Dallas lost Monta Ellis and Tyson Chandler before DeAndre Jordan backed out of a free-agency commitment. The Mavericks’ biggest free agency signing was Wesley Matthews, but he is coming off an Achilles' injury. Dallas replaced Ellis and Chandler with veterans Deron Williams and Zaza Pachulia. Dirk Nowitzki will enter the season with a chance to pass Shaquille O’Neal for the No. 6 spot on the NBA all-time scoring list.

The article also contains a good write-up about the Suns at Spurs game yesterday.

Its the preseason... give your teeth a rest, you have 6 months of actual games to grind about.

I think the players (especially ones who have been around for more than a couple years) are out there trying to work on conditioning, getting rid of some rust and trying not to get hurt. I don't think they care at all about the score or result.

I guess I was just expecting the Suns to give more effort tonight. Right now they are getting beaten soundly by some D-League type players.

I just think its funny that the NBA is dumb enough to hand our back to backs in the preseason.

I agree... but Raymond Felton is beating the Suns.

Tell me again about not grinding teeth. :D

Final: Suns 99 Mavericks 87

My hope is the Suns keep Jefferson and Sims on their 15 man roster. We shall see.

Leuer >>> Teletovic

We agree on this. I think Leuer really increases his value because he can play the 4-5.

PF looks like:

Markieff Morris
Jon Leuer
Mirza Teletovic

It wouldn't surprise me if Mirza gets traded later on like Anthony Tolliver. However, I do think Mirza will be the better player for the Suns than Tolliver (if he can gather his shooting touch). Otherwise he is a liability on defense.

He just looked a lot more active in general. True, I've watched only one half of one preseason game, but certain kinds of activity can't be taught, and Teletovic doesn't seem to have them.

Teletovic got out-muscled under the boards even when he had good position. That's a big limitation.

Suns could end up being interested in adding Jimmer Fredette who was just cut by the Spurs

If Fredette had PG skills I might see the interest. However, I don't think the Suns need another shooter who is 6'2."

Leuer just seems alot more mobile. He moves around like a much smaller player.

He is a stretch 4 pure and simple, signed to spread the court. I do think when he gets in shape, he will be a much better player... at least a better shooter.
