Phoenix plays Edmonton again in a preseason match on Tuesday, this time in Edmonton. Cujo and Morrison are scheduled to play in net. Roenick - Comrie - Doan is the top line according to Gretzky, at least for now. With linemates like that, Roenick has no excuse to have a poor year.

Coyotes lost against Edmonton again 3-1 last night, but Phoenix's line up was mostly minor leaguers. Tjordman and Morrison (not Cujo, I was mistaken earlier) were the goalies, and Josh Gratton scored the only goal. Joseph and LeNeveu are the goalies tonight for the first preseason home game versus Dallas. Most of the projected NHLers are scheduled to be in the line up tonight.

Coyotes win tonight 3-2 over Dallas. The biggest positive coming from the game was that Owen Nolan scored two goals for Phoenix. I know its only preseason, but that is still a very good sign for someone who hasn't played in so long. It looks like we aren't in a Brett Hull-esque situation again.

I was at the game and Nolan looked pretty good. Physical, tough, and had some pretty good shots on net. Coyotes definitely played more physical than I've seen them in the past.

Taffe always seems to be on the cusp of something good. Perhaps a trade is in order to serve both parties?

They looked horrible in the first preiod. It looked as if they were trying to set plays up and looked slow and boring. They then came out in the second and became fast and physical. Hopefully there were just working on things in the first period.

They won 3-2. Nagy looks great and Doan looks like he is going to carry the team as a emotional leader and throw punches when ever he needs to.

By the way, any word on Nolan, he did not play and I have not heard anything since the 2 goal game. Hopefully they are not trying to over work him.

They also had a great video of Nash during a TV timeout. Is he hurt because he did not play as well. Since there were only about 3000 there last night and the crowd went crazy for the video, they are going need him for attendance.

I also noticed that Peter Mueller is still up, but did not play last night. Does anyone this he has a chance of making this team or does he get sent down. I have a feeling they are looking for a young kid to make a impact and hope the fans get excited about it.

Nash had a groin injury earlier in camp but has played since so I dont know if it is still bothering him or not. Either way, I think on this team he is a spare forward at best.

Chances are Peter Mueller will get sent back to his Junior hockey team in Canada, but there is a rule where you can get 10 games at the NHL level before sending a guy back to Juniors for the year. However, the downside of that is you start the UFA clock on that guy a year early for only 10 games.

"Nagy injures hand

Edmonton's Marc-Andre Bergeron knocked Nagy and himself to the ice with a high check near the end of the second period.

After the collision, Nagy jumped on top of Bergeron and the two players grappled for a few moments.

During the melee, Nagy suffered a gash in the palm of his right hand. He left the ice, received seven stitches and did not return to the game.

The injury likely will keep Nagy out of Saturday's preseason finale but not the regular-season opener on Thursday.

Nolan sits but 'OK'

Right wing Owen Nolan skipped Thursday's game and the morning skate because he suffered a minor hip injury in Wednesday's game against Anaheim.

Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin checked Nolan in the first period while Nolan's head was down.

"He's OK," Gretzky said. "We're just being really cautious with him because he's missed two years.""

Well, the Coyotes won the preseason finale in overtime against Anaheim tonight. We should have a final roster for opening night announced tomorrow.

Five more sent to the AHL:
Matt Jones (D)
Matthew Spiller (D)
Bill Thomas (RW)
David LeNeveu (G)
Travis Roche (D)

Peter Mueller was also sent back to his Juniors club.

I am actually very surprised Bill Thomas did not make the team, I thought he was going to take a roster spot with the injury to Sjostrom. Mike Morrison has won the backup goalie job, and LeNeveu will start for San Antonio which figures to be a vastly improved team. No final roster has been set yet, but rookies Keith Yandle and Enver Lisin are still in camp. There are still three or four cuts left to go.

Players still in camp:

Forwards: Nagy, Comrie, Doan, Reinprecht, Roenick, Nolan, Saprykin, Scatchard, Laraque, Gratton, Nash, Enver Lisin, Patrick Fischer, Mike Zigomanis, Joel Perreault

Defensemen: Morris, Jovanovski, Boynton, Michalek, Ballard, Seidenberg, Keith Yandle

Goalies: Joseph, Morrison

Injured: Ricci, Sjostrom

Gretzky has hinted that the team could keep seven defensemen. The coaching staff absolutely loves Keith Yandle, he could be this year's Ballard. If they in fact keep seven defensemen, it appears there are four forwards playing for just one or two spots (Nash, Zigomanis, Lisin, Perreault). I suspect Barnett may end up making a trade in the next week or two in order to alleviate the number of skaters, like he did last season when he traded three depth guys for Geoff Sanderson.

Not much of a surprise that Nash is gone. With Gratton and Laraque ahead of him, he was essentially redundant. I am not sure if a team will even claim Nash, but good luck to him in the future.

Too bad for Yandle. I wanted to see him get some time, although he would have had to wait for injury either way.

An impressive set of defensemen.

Guys like Matt Jones, who was the #1 call-up last season when a defenseman was injured, is now probably the #3 guy in San Antonio behind Yandle and Spiller. The team has much more depth. I like it.

Tyson Nash was waived today.

What do you think about Nash being waived? Personally, I was fine with it because I felt Laraque filled this role and he was tougher and more of a scorer.

Apparently the Coyotes female fans are in mourning. They are pissed. I think they seen Nash more of a fan favorite than what he contributes on the ice.

Nash has agreed to report to San Antonio.

They should give Tyson Nash the in-arena host job. That way, everyone wins...except that dude that had the job last year, of course, but too bad.
