The Suns play at the Rockets today with a 5 p.m. start time. I'm uncertain of the starting lineups although Howard is out for the Rockets and perhaps Harden as well. Read more from a Paul Coro article at azcentral dated 10-12-14.

Suns at Rockets

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Toyota Center, Houston.

TV/radio: NBATV/KMVP-FM (98.7).

Rockets update: Houston center Dwight Howard will not play due to a sore knee. James Harden also might not play because of a hip bruise. The Rockets have added two former Arizona guards, free agent Jason Terry and second-round draft pick Nick Johnson, and former Suns player Ish Smith. Smith has played 38 minutes of backup point guard in Houston's two preseason wins.

Markieff still traveling every time he posts up, Dragic still can't hit free throws, Bledsoe still can't dribble.

Right now it doesn't look like the Suns have a frontline.

Good Lord, Dragic can't stay in front of Papanikolau!

Two nice drives by Bledsoe, on the positive side.

The Suns need a center that looks like Dorsey... big and mean. :)

However, Markieff goes out with 3 fouls.

The Rockets have some big players like Tarik Black, Donatas Motiejunas and Joey Dorsey. Whether they can play is another matter but the Rockets think big.

PF and center positions looking weak for the Suns.

I won't get this game until it's a replay but checking out the stats it seems strange to see that we've played 14 guys and that doesn't include Len, Ennis or Zoran. Our starters are all plus 10 or so and every single sub has a minus working.

The Suns will need their bench to win games with depth.

Earl Barron is looking like the best center on the Suns roster which is sort of frightening.

The more I watch Archie Goodwin, the more convinced I am of my assessment. He is not an NBA level player. He essentially has no NBA level skills. The Suns should look to trade him for anything they can get.

Do the Suns never look at a physical specimen like Tarik Black?

If your assessment is correct why would any team trade something for him?

A lot of bad GM's out there. That's why you trade him now.

And by anything, I mean anything. A second round pick would be unbelievable value.

That must be why he's put up good percentages every time that he's gotten good minutes right?

11/19 @ SAC: 19 minutes played - 16 pts on 70% shooting

2/25 vs MIN: 16 minutes played - 10 pts on 55% shooting and 5 rebounds

2/26 vs UTA: 27 minutes played - 16 pts on 60% shooting and 7 rebounds.

4/16 @ SAC: 31 minutes played - 29 pts on 84% shooting

He only had one game in which he got good minutes and played bad and that was at home against Sacramento when he got 18 mins of playing time.

He was awful the last few minutes of this game, agreed. But to say that we should pawn him off for 2nd rd pick is ridiculous imo.

Lol Miles Plumlee with 2 pts and 1 rebound in 20 minutes of action against a Dwight Howard-less Rockets front line.

:biglaugh:

Geez, Goran is giving Shaq and Howard the run for their money from the charity stripe.

I wouldn't be surprised if teams started implementing a "Hack-A-Dragon" strategy against the Suns if Goran continues this.

I agree that pawning him off for a 2nd round pick is pointless. However, correlation is not causation. Archie got big minutes in those games because he was playing well, not the other way around. He would have had a lot more big minute games had he not sucked out loud in 9 out of 10 appearances.

Miles Plumlee has been disappointing so far in preseason.

I agree. Miles is over thinking it instead of just letting the game come to him. He was a beast when he first came to the Suns. He was playing loose and having fun. Now it seems he's putting too much pressure on himself.
