PHOENIX SUNS SELECT-A-SEAT OPEN PRACTICE THIS SUNDAY AT AWA
Fan Festival/Open Practice to feature autograph sessions, games and give-aways
PHOENIX - Fans can get their first look at the 2003-04 Phoenix Suns on Sunday, October 5th as the team stages their Select-A-Seat Open Practice, presented by AT&T Wireless, at America West Arena. Admission to the event and parking in the AWA garage is free.
Doors open to the general public at 4 PM, while members of the Jr. Suns and Jr. Mercury Youth Basketball Leagues will be allowed to enter the arena at 3:30 PM for their own Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury Player Appreciation Day event.
The Select-A-Seat Open Practice will feature a variety of activities for fans leading up to the actual practice, highlighted by a 30-minute autograph session with Suns players at 4:45 PM (admission to this session will be limited). Additional autograph sessions will feature Suns alumni such as Alvan Adams, Tom Chambers, Jeff Cook, Vinny Del Negro, Connie Hawkins, Tim Kempton, John Shumate, Dick Van Arsdale, Neal Walk and Mark West. Fans will also enjoy performances by The Suns Dancers, The Zoo Crew and The Gorilla and will be able to participate in a number of interactive games set up in the north end of the arena floor.
Led by head coach Frank Johnson, the Suns will take the floor for practice beginning at 5:30 PM and seating will be limited to the lower bowl on a space available basis.
The event presents a great opportunity for fans to purchase ticket plans before single-game tickets go on sale to the general public the next day. Ticket plans assure fans of the best available seat locations for the best games, including the regular season home opener versus rookie LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 30th. Ticket plans range from full season to 10-game plans, with many options in between.
As an added bonus, the first 100 fans who purchase a full or half-season ticket plan at the event will receive an autographed practice jersey from Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion or Stephon Marbury. And any fan who purchases a ticket plan of any size at this event will receive a special gift.
The Suns open preseason play against Jason Kidd and the Eastern Conference champion New Jersey Nets on Tuesday, October 7th at America West Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The Suns will play three of their eight preseason games at home. All Suns preseason games will be broadcast on NewsRadio 620 KTAR (620 AM) and the Suns Radio Network.
