I had to turn this game off because it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I mean, even the fans were booing at one point. If this is how they're going to play this game then don't play it at all. I mean, if I want to see an Arena type game, I'll go to an Arena game. This wan't enjoyable at all. Players playing at half speed or slower. Anyone who liked this game is not a football fan.

Tonight's dud wasn't even at Arena level. At least those guy actually try. One of the first running plays by the NFC had so little effort that at first I thought the play had been blown dead.

If that's what the players want leave the linemen and linebackers at home and play a game of 7 on 7. QB,TE to snap the ball, a RB and 4WRs. On D one S to count one Mississippi, 2 Mississippi 3 Mississippi and then rush the passer and 6 DBs. The players could still jump up in the stands and every one would be happy.

The owners would save a ton of money not having to pay those pro-bowl bonuses. :p

I've seen better 7 yr old flag football games! The NFL should be embarrassed to even be associated with & showing such trash!

Was pathetic till Larry scored on his first catch. In his first interview they asked him about playing hard and his response was on the lines of "I came here to represent my team and my fans. Cardinal football is physical" or something along those lines.

Pro bowl is set up for failure anyway. It's an extremely physical game as is, and we want our biggest, fastest, hardest hitting players to play all out in a game that means absolutely nothing. As much as I'd like to see Adrian Wilson blast Brandon Marshall, doing so could potentially put out a guy who's only there to put on a show for the hard work he put in all season.

My vote goes to eliminating game entirely.

I enjoyed this pro bowl more than any other ones in recent memory because I found it to be completely hilariously inept. The total lack of effort in run blocking, Peppers' lateral to the AFC player, etc.

I've got an idea. Have two games of 7 on 7 like I suggested only in the 2nd game it would be all FBs,LBs and linemen. Watching OTs and DTs playing WR and DB would awesome fun.

Love it!!!! Then you can have half the QB's in the main game and the other half in the other game. The second game could also be a flag football game, not sure we want to see DD flying full speed in the Joe Thomas. If would be like watching a flow motion crash of a 65 Impala and 65 GTO.

DD running into Joe Thomas wouldn't happen because the one allowed pass rusher would have to count to 4 or 5 Mississippi before he could rush. All offensive players are eligible receivers. It would be a riot watching those guys try to cover each other.

As bad as it is... it's still better than the NHL All-Star game.

Anyone remember the old punt/kick/pass competitions they used to have on TV in the old days? You'd have elite HOF'ers competing against each other in passing competitions, 40 yard dashes, etc. I'd get rid of the game and do something like that (preferably for charity). I mean, I wouldn't mind watching Brees/Ben/Rivers etc trying to hit that little moving bullseye like the old school days. Or watching the RB's running 40's against each other, doing hurdles, whatever. Most of us are such sick football fanatics we'd even watch lineman running their drills and competing for the best times. IMO this would be way better than the pathetic games of the Pro Bowl.

I haven't watched the game in years. I was channel surfing and saw the first run by the nfc and as DJ said I thought the play was blown dead.

I was always happy to hear OUR players weren't playing in the game to remove the risk of injury. They would be better putting on fun exibition game. Let the defensive players play offense. Put on flags and only have 2 referees for the game. Allow holding and interference. Can you imagine DD playing WR?

It would be hilarious, entertaining and at least sincere in the fact that it would presented as a "fun" game. That being said someone could still get hurt.

It is impossible to play such a physical game that relies on strength, power, intimidation and hitting at half speed and be worthy enough to call it football.

I agree that the format needs to be revisited because it just isn't what it is promised to be. I understand why players don't want to go all out, and I hate that the league tries to bill it as a competition.

I would prefer a skills challenge or something else entirely, because I understand that you can't just cancel the Pro Bowl. What I would prefer it to be is some sort of interactive fan weekend. Give fans access to players (similar to baseballs spring training) and find a way to make it fun. I like the idea of 7 on 7 but then struggle with a way to include the offensive and defensive line players. Regardless, this is a dated concept that, due to the physicality of the game and the mentality of todays players, will never be an actual competition.

Close. Punt, Pass and Kick is the competition for kids that they still do every year. I believe you're thinking about The Superstars which included competitors from other sports, but would often have special editions with NFL players only. They often did specials with multiple players from each of two teams as faux Super Bowl rematches.

Yes, that's what it was (I was a kid then, this was thirty years ago or so). I wouldn't mind watching that instead of the pro bowl. Just take all the pro-bowlers and have them compete in those drills.

I was talking about this with a friend of mine and he told me he switched over to one of those lingerie football games and he said the hitting was harder in that game than the pro bowl. He said they were blasting each other.

I say do away with the Pro bowl game. I couldn't watch anymore of it after 5 minutes. It looked like a celebrated scrimmage.
