If you get a chance to watch the lateral td pass to Fitz, take note of what Ben Patrick did on that play. Had it not been for him Warner would not have gotten that pass off.
He was looking for somebody to block. He saw an Eagle flying in from the left side. Somehow he manged to turn , run to that side , dive an the defender and got just enough of him to push him away from Warner.

Ouutstanding heads up play and desire to get it done. Thats how teams become Champions.

I love Ben Patrick. I was psyched when the Cards drafted him. He seemed to be hurt a lot this year but I am expecting huge things from him next year he is going to be a solid TE for us.

Those are the types of plays you need to win big games. Blocking was one of the worries after losing Spach in the Carolina game. Nice to see Patrick filling in admirably.

Ben Patrick is a good player for us. We know they guy can catch.

He is a role player but he is good at his role. As his blocking improves he is becoming more of a complete player. The only worry is that blasted knee. He has had problems with that entire leg his whole career.

I absolutely loved the way he grabbed the ball on that two point conversion and wouldn't let go. Nobody hits him, the play's long over, he's still got both arms wrapped around it like somebody's going to try to take it away from him, even as he's walking to the sidelines. :D

I was just thinking that...like he didn't want to release it because as long as he felt it, everything was real...He seized it like an awakening man tries to hold on to a beautiful dream

Anybody else call the 2 point conversion play prior to the play? My girlfriends brother in law said lob to Fitz and I said no it'll be the TE, if Patrick is in they'll throw to him.

We ran a lot of 2 RB and 2 TE's on that last drive I think we surprised Philly several times on the drive liek the screen to Pope, and that 2 point conversion play they were looking at Pope and missed Patrick slip out inside.

That two TE offense can be pretty effective against blitzing defenses. I love it.

On the subject of Pope.. Anyone else think he looks completely uncomfortable with the ball in his hands?
I know the guy is HUGE, and don't expect him to whip out Barry Sanders moves.. I dunno, maybe it's just me.. maybe its the injuries.. he just looks almost scared to me after the catch.

He's not used to having the ball stay in his hands when it's thrown to him. :D

He runs soft and goes down easy for such a big man.

The only reason they signed Spach was because Ben Patrick was injured with a severe knee sprain. Now he's back to his starting role.

I was right there with you. My wife said "they're leaving fitz alone on the outside" and I replied "it's not going to him anyway, watch the tightend." I just knew with Whiz it wouldn't be the obvious choice.

I also called the pick before it happened too, but didn't forsee the fumble. 3rd and long is just the perfect place for an interception.
