Double D showed up today. 8 tackles and a sack. Better than any game he played last season by far.

Wilson with six tackles, two sacks and the int (wow).

Griffith, Green, Hayes and Rolle. All hitting hard.

Moore with the best run stuffing play I've seen in 20 games when he blew up the SEA right guard and put alexander down for a three yard loss. Dansby was visible a couple times in coverage and in the SEA backfield.

They didn't lay down. We've got hope guys.

You forgot the incredibly bad coverage where he gave up the TD and it was ugly.

Still though, there is reason for optimism when speaking about the defense this week. Unfortunately not so much for the offense

Yeah, other than the big play, touchdown scroring drives, the defense was stellar. Throw in a penalty so we can see more of the defense and we are set.

Not sure what game you watched. I didn't see much that has proven to me that the Cards D has turned the corner. Alexander still had a great game. Terrible, was hoping for a better performance.

And I don't know what game were YOU watching... Alexander did not have a great game. He was kept in check most of the game. His stats are padded with that 12 yrder in the end when the game was over and Seattle was killing clock. His overall yrds / carry is less than Edge.

I wouldn't call 89 yards & 3.4 YPC "great". The D played about as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

That said, I'd like to see Dockett bring it more than one game in a row.

I agreeand there was nothing 'stellar' about this D. They lost even with the Hawks making alot of mistakes.

Last year Alexander averaged 150 yards and 3 TDs a game against us. He was held under a 100 yards and only had 1 TD.

They intercepted Hasselback twice and he was under 50% for the 2nd half

They did give up a few big plays and still played way too soft on 3rd down but this wasn't a horrible performance by the D. Some bad playcalling and some mixups but not terrible

Not to be contentious, but warner was still 24/38 for 231, with 1 TD and the int.

Not a bad line for a guy who was running for his life.

Edge managed 64 yards on eighteen carries. That's 3.6 yards a carry. Not breathtaking, but better than last week.

Great defense except for 3rd downs. I don't know what their conversion rate was on 3rd downs but that was very dissapointing to me.

BTW, it does not mean I think our D was steller... they got better after first quarter and still made few mistakes. But they played much better than game 1.

Alexander didn't have his usual kind of game but the Cards have got to stop making reserve backs look like Larry Johnson.

Yea we have hope if Wilson played LB and not SS. We have hope if Green isnt out for long. We have hope is Rolle could cover anyone without drawing a flag.

Griffith, Wilson, Rolle all playing out of position...

FS- Fransisco SS- Griffith
OLB-Dansby MLB-Hayse OLB- Wilson

Improve our speed at 2 positions, improves our coverage...

Seattle was 6-13 on 3rd down. We were 6-14.

The biggest disappointment to me...

First drive...3rd and 7, we rush four, no pressure, they convert and then breeze in for a score.

Next drive....3rd and 12, we rush three, they convert.

I might have the two plays backwards, but I was extremely pissed we let Hasselbeck just sit back there early in the game.

Not to mention the 3rd and 21 in the 3rd qtr IIRC where they would've had the 1st down if the WR didn't just drop it

I was thinking this same thing as I was watching one of Wilson's futile attempts at covering someone. I had heard this proposed before but thought it would be a mistake. Wilson at LB may work.

Get Fransisco on the field. Our safeties do nothing in coverage.

Yes the defense got better and that is commendable, but once again they let the other team dictate the start of the game. Our defense seems to always need a slap in the face by the other team to get going and this hurts us tremendously. They allowed San Fran to score on them to open the game and now they let Seattle do the same. In order for this team to get over the hump defensively they will need to do something to set the tone in games from here on out.

I honestly don't know if this bunch has a clue. People are starting at goofed spots all over the field.

Pace at LB, Wilson at Safety, Rolle at corner, Big at tackle, Step at center, Griffith at Safety.

Macklin and Green should be our corners, Rolle and Francisco should be our Safeties.

Pace needs to be a backup, Wilson can't cover needs to be a LB at best, Big needs to be a guard, Step needs a bus ticket and Griffith needs to retire.
