Props to Emmitt

Just got back from a fun vacation in Qatar, so this was the first game I had a chance to see.

There was one play, I believe in the second half. McCown was in the shotgun, with Emmitt in the backfield beside him. The defense shifted, and Emmitt looked over at Josh, as if he was expecting him to call an audible. Then just before the snap, Emmitt called a timeout.

We'll probably never know what really happened, but I for one hope to see Emmitt back next year. It's like having a coach in the huddle. Exactly what you want with a young QB. Of course, I still want to see Shipp out there for 75% of the snaps.

They ran out of time. The playclock was down to :02 and McCown wasn't ready for the snap.

Emmitt did that a couple of times early in the season, too.

My respect for Emmitt grows every game.

He could have quit, who would have blamed him? But he doesn't, he is there every single play, not carrying the ball, but he never stops talking, advising and arguing for his team, our team. Yesterday most times when Josh came off the field the first person there talking to him was not his coach or even his veteran back-up, it was Emmitt.

It was easy to be critical of signing Emmitt, after all he was a hated Cowboy and we wanted to see Marcel, who was "ours" run the ball. Looking back over this awful season having him on the team will be a bright spot.

We all know that Smith will go down in the history books as a Cowboy, but he also has earned a place in the hearts of Cardinal fans too.

I don't have a problem with Emmitt, or even him playing. I have a problem with Shipp getting on a roll, and Emmitt coming in. I think how and when he's been used has been horrible.
