That has been some of the best pass protection I have seen by a RB all season, the guy was sprinting across the line to hit their defense.

Gotta look at the bright side on days like this.

And the guy is a lot quicker than he was last year, on a few plays I thought Williams actually had the ball and his first down run was admirable :)

I counted at least 4 plays where he's hit in the backfield on a run or throw and wound up getting positive yards

I wasn't keen on Taylor last season, but I've come around this year. I still think we need a #1 RB. Ellington & Taylor are a solid 2 and 3.

I dunno - Williams, Grice, Taylor, Ellington...that is a decent backfield (finally), esp since 2 of those guys were picked up mid-season. I do think we ca pick up another to replace Hughes, someone with a bit more size to help pound things occasionally.

We need a bruiser. Gore, Lynch, and Jackson, when he was with the Rams, could punish defenses, have the secondary make "business decisions" and take games over late. Taylor is the closest we have to their style and he is several grades down, IMO. Todd Gurley out of Georgia would be fantastic. No idea what the status is of his knee injury is though.

If your best asset is pass blocking, I want another RB back there. Taylor is a good 4th RB and ST'er, nothing more.

And that's fine, I'd just prefer he have no more than 10 carries the entire year because he's not that good running the ball.

He's better than you think running the ball, obviously. Based on what we've seen, he's a better volume runner than he is in the kind of spot duty you're describing here. More importantly, he doesn't have value to the overall offense if he's never running the ball, because teams are going to know that he's only in to pass block.

Taylor got the 1 yard on fourth and short that Robert Hughes couldn't get the previous down just this week.

I don't think that Taylor is ever going to be a 1000 yard back. But I think he can be productive with 5-7 carries a game plus more on those occasions when he can find a groove.

I think if you gave him 15-20 carries a game for a full season he'd get 1000 yards but he's not going to be a guy who is probably ever in a situation where he gets that many carries because he is not a breakaway guy.

I think they should definitely keep him, and he should have gotten the ball more earlier in the year. I'm assuming Kerwynn was hurt or he'd have played more against Seattle, he definitely has more burst and wiggle than Step does. If Ellington is healthy next year I think those 3 are a pretty decent combo, if you can get a RB in FA or later in the draft do so but I think it's been apparent that some of the run game issues were Ellington not being healthy enough to get through holes that Williams and Taylor are getting through.

Indeed he had a great, just, spectacular game. 11 caries for 19 yards and a 1.7 yard average.

I don't care how well a **** blocks that is pathetic.

This wasn't a good night for Taylor and frankly I thought Grice had a couple better blocks and better plays. Ya'll are insane and don't know football. Seriously.

Truth.

I'm guessing Williams fumble late in the prior game had something to do with his reduced workload, if Hulk doesn't make a great play it might have cost us the game. The next 3 carries went to Taylor, although KW did get the last carry.

I like Williams but my guess is he's either hurt, or Arians was concerned about ball security against Seattle.

Grice had 1 carry for 6 yards, it came with the score 35-6, a first down draw from the shotgun against a defense playing straight pass up 29 points.

He had 1 catch for 3 yards, took a wicked hit I was impressed he held on. but he didn't exactly do much himself.

For the year Grice averages 2.7 YPC, longest run 8 yards, 4 catches averaging 6.8 YPC, Taylor averages 7.2 on 11 catches. Arians has repeatedly stated Taylor is the best blocker of the 3, so it's sort of hard to argue Grice should be playing ahead of him, lower rushing average less receiving production, doesn't block as well.

I like Williams, I think he deserves more carries.

Wasn't saying Grice deserves more playing time than Taylor or Williams, I just thought he was equally (un) impactful during our last game.

I like Williams and don't care about the fumble. The game against Seattle, most important game of the year, wasn't the game to make a statement on Williams. He's our best RB, period. You play to win.

My main point was that all this Taylor love is idiotic, made by fans who have no clue. The dude averaged 1.7 yards a carry! He blocked for a guy who has no pocket awareness to begin with. And someone starts a thread about him. Hahaha. Seriously funny. Ignorant, but funny.

And dudes like K9 and others buy into this performance. I think it's a joke. Williams runs for 100 yards and not much of a peep from these dudes. Taylor averages 1.7 and they say he's awesome. How is that not funny?

Funny how making a comment about a guy's blocking ability, when it's pretty clear there is a bunch of sarcasm in the sense that there wasn't much positive to take from this game, could get your panties in a bunch. Maybe that is what the Darkside moniker represents?

So this whole thread is sarcasm? Perhaps I misunderstood. Although, read it again, perhaps you did.

Since I started the thread, my part was focused on lightening the mood after a blowout. I pull for Kulabafi like K9 pulled for Jim Dray, he does a lot of little stuff right that keeps him on the team, but will likely never be better than a 3rd RB, if he sticks at all next year.
