LSU football star Will Campbell has come off the 2025 NFL Draft board after being selected by the New England Patriots.
The Pats drafted Campbell with the No. 4 overall pick in the first round Thursday night. Coming into the three-day event, the star LSU offensive lineman was projected to go as high as the No. 4 pick but also as low as the mid-first round.

Campbell started a left tackle for LSU from Day 1 as a freshman three years ago. The 6-foot-6, 319-pounder has been a transcendent talent for the Tigers during his career, earning All-American honors multiple times while projecting as LSU's top NFL prospect since before he was draft-eligible.
How he works with his feet and his sturdy base has made Campbell one of the toughest tackles to get around. And over his three years, he's been charged with blocking some of college football's best pass rushers and defensive ends.
Campbell's ability to matchup and win one-on-ones battles on the edge allowed LSU versatility with its blocking schemes up front in the run and pass game.
One of his biggest strengths has been power with jamming defensive linemen and his agility. Once Campbell got his hands on defenders, he rarely would get shaken off. Also his athleticism once he reaches the next level is a strength.
This past season, procedural problems were an issue for Campbell as he generated some false starts and holding calls. A lot has been made about his arm length, which is 33 inches, but with being named an All-American multiple times, his arms haven't held him back yet.
Campbell earned consensus First-Team All-American honors this past season and was the captain for an offensive line that gave up only 15 sacks.
He protected Jayden Daniels in one of LSU's most prolific offenses in program history in 2023.
In three years, Campbell allowed five sacks.
According to some NFL draft scout analysts, Campbell projects in the NFL much like Taylor Decker of the Detroit Lions or Bernard Raimann of the Indianapolis Colts.
