The Providence Bruins announced they have signed defenseman Ty Gallagher to a two-year AHL contract.
Gallagher will join the team on an Amateur Tryout for the remainder of the season and the contract will begin at the beginning of the 2025-26 season.
The 22-year-old recorded nine goals and 26 points in 37 games for the NCAA's Colorado College Tigers this season.
A native of Clarkston, Mich., Gallagher played three seasons for the Boston University Terriers before joining Colorado College.
A seventh round pick of the Boston Bruins in 2021, Gallagher racked up 17 goals, 51 assists and 68 points in 148 career NCAA games.
The right-handed defender was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2022 and was a Hockey East Champion with Boston University in 2023.
Gallagher will provide a much needed boost to the Providence back-end while the Bruins continue to recall multiple Providence players as the NHL season is in the final stretch.
