Quick question about the PS3....If I upgrade my 40GB to a new slim, would I be able to redownload all of the Rockband songs that I have on the other one through my PSN account once I register it on the new machine?

Yes.

As a matter of fact if you login to someone else's PS3 with your account information, and they have Rockband, you can download the songs you've already purchased there as well.

I know these because I've done it.
