Penn State interim coach Larry Johnson says he will apply for the fulltime job left open when Bill O'Brien left for the NFL's Houston Texans. Johnson is a holdover from the Joe Paterno era. He joined the Nittany Lions' staff in 1996 and has been the defensive line coach since 2000. He also interviewed for the job two years ago before O'Brien was hired as Paterno's successor.
