Waaay behind the times here. Just saw Pulp for the first time tonight. Anyway, did I miss something? What was in the briefcase?

That's all the talk - I don't think anyone knows for sure, except Quenten. It's all speculation. Great movie by the way.

Did you like it?

Extremely overrated movie, by the way. :D

Anyway, popular consensus is that it is Marsellus' soul--remember the bandaid on the back of his neck?

That's popular consensus, but there are many other theories out there.

I thought it was a good movie. Bit hard to follow jumping back and forth but still well done with alot of name actors.

Love Samuel L Jacksons character.

Ok, according to Tarantino, what's in the briefcase is irrelivant. It is mearly a plot device.

His original idea was diamonds,. But his buddy, and co-writer, Roger Avery thought it would look better on film to light up the inside of the briefcase. After some experimentation, they decided orange would look best. Also, they agreed it be a cool homage to "The Manchurian Candidate" where there was a glowing briefcase (which contained an atomic bomb!).

I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you."

If they showed this movie on NBC or something it would be like 2 minutes long because they would have to edit out everything.

Better wake up the gimp

I got fired from one of my first jobs in high school because I was so late seeing this movie in the theater for the first time. I liked it so much that I stayed in my seat and watched it again. I guess I was like 6 hours late and they told me to not bother clocking in....it was worth it

I know what was in the briefcase. Quinton wrote a small peice on it.

In the muslim? (forget which religion) religion you can steal a mans soul through a small hole in the back of his neck.

The big black gangster guy has a bandaid on his neck the whole movie.

Story is someone had taken his soul, the guys who got shot had gotten it back but wanted to keep it for bribery. (They didnt know what was in it. They didnt knwo the combination to the briefcase)

The combination of the briefcase was 666.

Tarantino publically stated in 2003 on the Howard Stern Show that the contents of the breifcase is "whatever the viewer wants it to be."

The whole soul theory is bunk, nobody has a quote from Tarantino. Here is an interview where he explains he wanted it to be what YOU think, not what he thinks http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=2103

I remember liking it at the time it came out, but i don't don't think it has aged that well.
I still love Samuel in it though just as much as ever.
