You want another reason the Cards QB situation is a mess just look at their history of drafting QB's. I've heard some GM's mention that you should try and take a QB very year because you never know who will work out. I don't think that's all that reasonable but until Skelton the Cards hadn't taken a QB since drafting Leinart and the only 2 QB's they have above round 5 since 1999 have been Leinart and McCown. Navarre and Griesen were 7th rounders. I could see it if the Cards had a fixture like Peyton Manning in place but they've been a revolving door at QB.
I looked up NE and they seem to take a QB at least every 2 years and that's with Brady, who was drafted when Bledsoe was entrenched. Most of the time they don't pan out but when they do. It's very much worth it. Brady was a comp pic too .
BUt the guys they have drafted are Rohan Davey, Kliff Kingsbury(i've got to type his name twice today , that's a first), Matt Cassell, Kevin O'connell, and Zac Robinson.
Since 2004 the Cards have taken The Matt Leinart and this year Skelton.
