Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has taken a little time off to do some traveling. He took his mother to visit South Korea, the country of her and his heritage, his first trip there he has ever taken.
While he was there, he held a football camp and also was on KBS World Radio English for an interview.
In the interview, he noted how optimistic he is for the upcoming 2025 season. He believes they aren't far from a championship. "I'm looking forward to this next season," he said. "I think as an organization we're on the up and up."
When asked how far, his response was, "not far at all — I think anything is possible."
He recognizes their failures last season and takes accountability knowing there is more needed from him.
"You play the game to win the Super Bowl and lead this organization that's never won Super Bowl to that, so that's the goal," he said. "I could sit here and break down all the things of every season, but at the end of the day I've had some success but you as a unit in totality, I think the ultimate goal for us is to win the Super Bowl and we haven't done that yet and I haven't done enough."
The Cardinals have brought back almost everyone from last year's offense. They have upgraded the defense. They were 6-4 and in first place in the division with a defense that, while gritty, did not make many plays.
Murray isn't wrong that they aren't far off. They have upgraded the defense and get players back who missed significant time because of injuries. Marvin Harrison Jr., who had a good rookie season, should blossom toward greatness. The run game is strong.
On paper, you won't think they are favorites, but they certainly can be good enough to be competitors in the division and in the conference.
