Brock Osweiler is signing with the Houston Texans, as @Rand_Getlin reported.

Elway knows what he's doing. Osweiler wont be much of an upgrade over Hoyer.

With Brock Osweiler off to Houston, RGIII is on Broncos' list of replacement quarterbacks, per source. Could be visiting Denver.

That was a loss.. Starting from scratch at the most difficult position to replace in the NFL... Especially where they pick.. Osweiller is WAY better than Hoier!

Doug & Wolf were also talking about reports of Kaepernick trade discussion for Denver

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Two players on the radar of the #Broncos now that Brock Osweiler is gone: RGIII and Colin Kaepernick.

It's not a loss if you're replacing an average at best player for far less than $15mil/year, especially since the success of that team now hinges on the defense/running game.

You mean the 19th-ranked running game by DVOA? Sounds good!

It is a loss to get nothing for a guy you've developed for four seasons just when you're ready to have him take over the reins. It might not be catastrophic, but this was also a team who went from 12-4 to 6-10 when they replaced John Elway with Bubby Brister.

I don't know whether Osweiler's loss will be catastrophic, but he's an upgrade over Brian Hoyer for a team that ALSO wants to win with defense and the running game.

I'm intrigued by Kaepernick in that offense; Bob Griffin does nothing for me.

I wonder if Denver can't find a legit QB if they could be convinced to give up an aging and expensive Demarcus ware in a trade. They have to know that Super Bowl isn't likely imminent in that event. They just got a ring. Ware wouldn't be for the future. Maybe they could be enticed by a 3rd?

a 3rd? Too much at his current state he may have one year left before he retires.

He had 7 sacks last year with those DTs and Von Miller eating up blockers??

Yeah, I think Houston will feel enormous levels of regret by about week 6, bench him early in 2017, release him before year 3. Hoyer to Brock is a downgrade.

We shall see. Being an ASU guy, I hope he does well. Hoyer did a descent job until he got that concussion and his play declined. I don't blame Brock going after the $. At least in Houston, he will have somewhat of a chance of winning, unlike going to the Browns. ;)

Well, you ASU fans can take heart; the Cards will get chance to sign him two years from today when Houston officially releases him.

His height gives him a great advantage... looking over teammates... on the sideline... while holding a clip board... :D
