Why is everybody assuming that he will come off the bench? I think the Suns promised Q he'd have a fair shot at starting.

Looking at last year's stats, I'd say Q is the favorite to start.

JJ

16.7 pts 4.7 rebs 4.4 assists, 30% 3p in 40 minutes

Q was very effective coming off the bench with the Clippers early on, while JJ has been better starting. Overall, JJ's stats are roughly comparable (better shooting percentage, fewer rebounds). My guess is that JJ is a better man defender while Q may be more athletic. JJ is a much better distributor and team player while Q is more explosive offensively. I see Q as instant offensive off the bench when the Suns offensive stagnates and when there are opportunities for mismatches.
