This is with Gonzo being traded, obviously.
bankybruce said:I think with the way Gonzo has been playing the last week or so, Green will be moved since he is owed 10 million next year and you will get the same if not more from Quentin and Gonzo's option will be declined freeing up 20 million total for next year.
spikecop02 said:Gonzo for a minor leauge player to be named later, would be very high value.

bankybruce said:Any trade for Gonzo or Green will yeild very little since these are more cost cutting moves since they know that there young kids waiting that they believe can put up AT LEAST the same numbers.
And as far as as your Gonzo bashing, I want to see him finish out the season here this year. He may be past his prime, but as a TRUE fan, I am loyal and would like to give him a nice goodbye, we owe him that since he had the most clutch hit that this town has ever seen and will ever see for some time. I still root for him and hope he continues his streak so he can leave with more respect than he is getting now.

HooverDam said:Oh shut up. Are you insinuating that somehow if someone wants Gonzo traded, they arent a "TRUE" fan?
I want what is best for the Arizona Diamondbacks, if that means trading a former star, thats what it means. I'm sorry he has become completely out of touch with whats going on, but thats not our fault as fans. Gonzo should be out there before games, taking Carlos aside, showing him the ropes, giving him tips about fielding at Chase, etc etc.

bankybruce said:Actually if you read it, I was refering the constant bashing about how he is the worst player ever to play. He deserves more respect than that. I guess if you had put my whole quote it would show that.

You see, by emphasizing the word true, you insinuate that anyone who disagrees with you, isn't a true fan. It may not have been your intent, but its certainly what your insinuating. I root for him too, and I hope he can keep raking in doubles, but somewhere else. He's hurting the team now.
HooverDam said:^I agree 100% about the roids thing. I dont think Gonzo was ever on the juice, he doesnt look like a comic book hero like McGwire or Bonds. He is tall and lean and muscular, but not oddly huge. He looks like a pro athlete who works out a lot. He had one good season, planning in an era with small ball parks and arguably diluted talent. The guys always been able to slam doubles, and for a short window, he was able to turn it into HR power.
I think my dream situation would be for Green to get traded, and have Quentin be put in RF for the rest of the year. Then when he gets healthy perhaps platoon Scott Hairston w/ Gonzo in left. I'd be fine w/ Gonzo finishing out the season, everyone coming to the last week or so of games with signs and cheers and wave him goodbye.
Im just sick of Gonzos attitude and his insistence on playing everyday and being shocked when he doesn't. He needs to be more graceful.
