I was thinking of getting a new jersey from the shop at NFL.com. I was looking at their personalized replica jersey choices, since I can't afford to throw down the money for an authentic right now. My question is, they have three different choices for the jerseys. So I thought someone here might know what the differences are?

They had:
Nike replica - $39.99
Reebok 2001 - $44.99
Reebok 2002 - $79.99

Is there a difference here that I need to know about? Is this a "you get what you pay for" in terms of quality or something? There isn't really any explanation of the differences on the site.

Just thought I would ask before buying because I don't want to make a mistake here and be pissed about it later.

Yes, this is a case of getting what you pay for. The Nike replica is just like every other non-reebok jersey. If you're going to go cheap get Champion, or Wilson.

The Difference between the 2001 & 2002 Reebok is that the 2002 version is the closest to being authentic. The 2002 has the "stiffer" collar, and the "break away" sides that used to be featured only in authentic product.

My advice would be: If you're a HUGE Cardinal fan, and you want a jersey to last you, go with the 2002 Reebok. If you want a quality jersey with out the authentic add-ons, go 2001 Reebok. If you just want a "putting around" jersey go with the Nike.

Well I want to get an authentic one, but I think the money is better spent elsewhere (as blasphemous as that might sound), like towards a road trip to actually see the team play for instance.

The Nike and the Reebok 2001 jerseys are essentially the same in terms of quality and build. I would guess that the difference in price is that Reebok is the offical supplier of the NFL and they feel they can charge a little more.

As far as the 2002 Reebok's....there is, IMO, a significant difference in the design and build quality for the better. I think 80.00 for a replica jersey is still a bit much but it is a well constructed jersey and one that I have not had any issues with.

I hope that helps.

Then I would go with the 2002 Replica Reebok. I have two, and they are serious quality product.

Just don't put the players name on the back. Every time I get a new jersey that player is no longer on the team, I'm jinxed.

bratwurst---If I had to choose between getting a jersey or seeing the Cardinals play, I would absolutely choose watching a Cardinals game in person. The Cards have a small, but very vocal fan base and to be in the stands will all those screaming, hollering, wild people is a thrill beyond compare. You can't get the feel of a game watching it on TV. You have to be there.

Yeah I have been to a bunch of Cards games at Sun Devil when I still lived in AZ. Last game I saw there was a couple years back when Jurevicious and the Giants just killed us. That hurt.

I went to the last game of the 2001 season when the Cards played the Skins here in DC.

As far as the player on the back, I am either going to get Cecil or Tillman on the back. I think I will get Tillman first, and then eventually get another with Cecil on it. Probably one as home, and one as away.

Actually Jones and Cecil wore the same number - all you gotta do is change the name on the back. Someone was asking about places to get that done a while back.

Just a thought...

Just a thought...but wouldn't it be a grand gesture for all Cardinal fans to buy and wear a replica jersey with Tillman's name and #40 on it?

I've got the one I bought 2 years ago. I will wear it to the first pre-season game to honor Tillman and all our service people.
