yep

And Graves and Whiz got new top contracts- We are in way worse shape than Denny left us.
We are in worse shape than when Denny came to the cards too!

If the Cards release Brown it will be the 2nd year in a row the Cards have released a former #1 draft pick getting nothing in return during the off season. At least they got Kolb for DRC. Think about that for a minute. '05,'06,'07 and '08 #1 selections all gone since Feb. 2010.

And yet they have salary cap issues. :bang:

this seems reason enough to fire most GM's unless their boss want let them have the money or interferes in other ways.

Just saw this posted on Mike Sando's ESPN NFC West blog. It's in the context of the FA each NFC West should pursue, the Cardinals being tackle Jared Gaither. I know nothing about this Bill Williamson guy, but his assessment is pretty close to my own regarding Levi Brown and the quarterback situation. To re-sign Levi Brown to a lucrative contract is the ultimate in rewarding mediocrity IMO.

Quarterback is the problem, but I just don't know if they will do anything about it. Their line needs to be rebuilt. Levi Brown, as much as I dislike him, did play better late in the season. I still think he is one of the worst starters in all of football when you look at every game he has started in the NFL. He is not a starting-caliber player.

When has Graves let on any different? According to him everything is always looking god. Then the player gets an offer and Graves goes into damage control mode.LIke I said,Brown wil resign if he takes what the Cards offer.FOr some reason,Graves thinks these players should give them a hometown discount. That may be the case if he tried to geta deal done before a player is a week beforef free agency.

CrazyCanuck is right that the Cards are making a smart decision on evaluating what they believe a player to be worth at the start of free agency, and then walking away when the price gets to be too high.

I think that the problem with Graves is that he seems to be continually surprised by the ACTUAL value of these players when they hit the market. With Rolle and Dansby, the Cards were actually willing to come off their number, but the damage had already been done and they walked away to somewhere where they felt valued.

We'll find out soon enough how in-line the Cards' thinking of Levi Brown's value is with the top left tackle available in free agency (that they'll look at Brown as the guy they have instead of the top OLT player is where the disconnect will likely be). Same thing happened with Calvin Pace, IMO.

Bill Williamson is a complete tool, and the Cards have had three looks at Jared Gaither (a guy I DESPERATELY wanted to Cards to get in the supplemental draft years ago), and have passed on him every time.
