Maybe I missed this, but the 2nd pick involved in the trade has no description other than conditional. When is this pick? What are the conditions? What is the secret? Also a side question concerning picks, if Clevland never makes the playoffs is there a date when this pick becomes unconditional?

The NY post said something about the second pick had heavy protections on it, like 20+ the first year (similar to the pick we owe the spurs). However I really don't take that as truth.

The Cle pick will never expire, nor will it come to us until the cavs make the playoffs. There was a rule saying a pick had to be handed over in 7 years reguardless, but it didnt come up until after we got our pick. If our pick wasn't grandfathered, we would have the pick this year regardless.

It was great until we got 3 inches of ice over it and now I can't really get out of the house without entertaining the neighbors.
Not often you can snowboard and have to stop for red lights! You?

Thanks!

I'd like to take a minute to thank all my loyal readers. This marks my 100th post here at ASFN. I hope to have 100 more. It only took me....how long has this site been open?

I have been stuck at home the past couple days. Can't make it up to the main road in my car. I live near the west hills.

That's very good news, IMO.

I mean NYK will never be a top 10 team in the next 7 years so we won't get a top20 protected pick which becomes unprotected in 2010.
So we got basically an unprotected 1st rounder in 2010.

Yes, this rule is from the new CBA (since 1999) and that's why CLE pick is lotto protected forever since the McDyess-trade was made under the former CBA.
