Question for you contract rules types.

Could we sign and trade Joe Johnson in a trade for a center to make contracts work out? Not saying it would happen, but is it possible rules wise. With him and Q, and shooting at a premium, he could be a tradable commodity. I am guessing we could trade Q after two months, too?

I can't imagine the Suns would trade Q. It is not like they traded for him. He signed as a FA. He will be here next season.

No, he is not a FA.


You have to have some sort of free agency status to be S&T. All he can get is an extension. (Then he can't be traded until Dec sometime.) The year after he signs his extension he will be a BYC player too, making it harder then.
