Similar to Carson , Carson would not take a paycut to stay in Oakland , but he did not mind taking a paycut to come to the Cardinals . That Black Hole is a real mess .

I saw Jared at Chop Shop tonight having dinner with his wife just chillen and that is one large human being doesn't look awkwardly large or like that one pic made him look like the Hulk he is just extremely fit for a man of his size he is simply just a Giant Human Being. He had to duck to get in and out of the front door and turn sideways cause his shoulders were too wide to just walk thru squared up. As long as he stays healthy i think we have our LT for the next decade, man is a beast!

Somebody's lying because it was eithe this wife or mom that stated that the Raiders offer was crap and nothing near what the Cards offered.

Its reassuring that players see this as a team that they WANT to play for. It helps to validate what most of us already know....that the Cardinals are a really good team and are still on the rise.

True. The Cards have come a long way from the days of being called the armpit of the NFL or having to pay the crummy team premium dollars to get free agents to Arizona and our drafted players being the ones who couldn't wait to get out of town. Thomas Jones even commented that the players in the "green room" at the NFL draft would kid each other about who would be stuck having to play for the Cardinals.

Agree, Reggie is just trying to save face.

trying to save face? He just admitted that the guy had no desire to play for the team he's the GM of. That doesn't seem like saving face to me.

As we all know the Cardinals' fortune turned when Michael Bidwill took over. End of story.

I think this is the better fix. While the GM change was needed, they made it to the Super Bowl under the previous GM.

Thank goodness we had the new stadium in 2012 , that --- 1 --- and --- 11 --- finish could have been a disaster if not for the new stadium !!!

Trying to save face as in saying that Veldheer had no desire to play there rather then admit to offering a completely ****ty contract. One that someone in the Veldheer family was offered. It was either his wife or mom. Cant remember which.

There is much to what you say but that is not the entire story. We drafted well. We have signed a few good FA. We got Kurt Warner on some luck. We got rid of our GM Graves and apparently Mr. B is really letting his son have his way. Selling out the new stadium of course is huge. Let us pray our new QB stays healthy all year or we could find ourselves in some trouble. In the old days we would not have signed our current QB and he probably would not have wanted to come here.

Come on guys are you not going to give our great coach Dennis Green some love for drafting our all pro WR? He has been the face of the Cards for some years now.

BEERZ, you fixed it, just not correctly. I should have said started to change. And I think that SK is and will continue to be the best GM in the team's history, but he wasn't the GM when we got to the Super Bowl. You can spin history, you just can't change history.

Kurt Warner returning to hall of fame level play took this team to a superbowl regardless of the past GM.

But I agree Mike B is not following his dads cheap approach to running the team.

I don't think Bidwill Sr. was ever cheap with the contracts as much as he was just so rigid and conservative with contracts and this team simply had no flexibility to do anything. The old man was lost in the aura of football history and he seemed to approach building a team as if it was the 60s and had no clue about free agency and the proper way to work with a GM of his selection that could build a roster under the modern age

I find it hard to believe that the Raiders didn't make a competitive offer to Veldheer. Especially with all of the cap room they had.

My guess is that Veldheer wanted out of the black hole. Why would he want to stay on a team that is in disarray with no future in sight. Not to mention play in a stadium that should be condemned.

I have a feeling someone is lying as well and it was simply Veldheer to the family member which would value the money more than being on a losing team. I think he was probably offered a good contract if not more than the Cardinals (about the same they offered Saffold) and Veldheer just did not want to be a Raider... he then told his wife or family member his choice was due to the money offered since they might not have understood that it was more than just a financial reward to him, just my opinion. All I know he is a Cardinal :)
