The Los Angeles Rams made some waves during the 2025 NFL free agency period, signing and retaining key players to help upgrade the roster ahead of the draft.

The most noteworthy move among their acquisitions is All-Pro wide receiver DaVante Adams, who signed a two-year contract worth $44 million earlier this month. Retaining quarterback Matthew Stafford on an adjusted contract was also a major headline at the start of the offseason.

Following the string of moves made, the Rams shot up into the top 10 of ESPN's post-free agency NFL power rankings, moving to No. 8, up four spots from February's early rankings. One deal that was dubbed an under-the-radar move by Rams ESPN reporter Sarah Barshop was the re-signing of OT Alaric Jackson, who agreed to a three-year, $57 million contract extension late last month.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford agreed to an adjusted contract on the same day as Jackson's re-signing, so this transaction was overshadowed despite being a key part of Los Angeles' offseason plan. Bringing back Jackson -- and keeping veteran right tackle Rob Havenstein -- also allows the Rams flexibility early in the draft, as offensive tackle is no longer a pressing need to address. -- Sarah Barshop

Veteran right tackle Rob Havenstein provides stability on the right side of the offensive line, but at 32 years old, he is entering a contract year. This situation, while not pressing in the first round, may prompt the Rams to address their offensive line during Day 2 of April's draft. On the opposite end, retaining Jackson solidifies the left side for the next three years. Last season, the former undrafted free agent allowed only three sacks. According to Pro Football Focus, he finished with a run-blocking grade of 75.9, ranking 19th out of 141 tackles, and a pass-blocking grade of 79.5, which ranked 23rd.

Los Angeles' path back to the postseason runs directly through its OL. With the addition of Adams to play alongside All-Pro Puka Nacua and a 37-year-old Stafford entering his 17th season, their ability to deliver elite protection will be critical next season to maintain its Top 10 passing attack from last season.
