With little happening with the D'Backs or it seems to appear that way I thought I chime in my two cents.

- D'Backs are convinced in the back part of their rotation, the AZ Republic reported last week that Jon Garland rejected a D'Back proposal believed to be in the 4 million dollar range.

- SI T&R states that the D'Backs could be a destination for Pedro Martinez as he is familiar with JB and that our top Latin American scout is close with him.

- We should have offered Dunn arbitration as he probably would have declined anyway not knowing the market would become this slow.

- Orlando Hudson will probably end up with WAS if neither NY team deals either of their 2B (Castillo & Cano).

- Lyon's agent says he has an offer on the table, could be STL but MIN and DET are in pursuit of him.

Garland would be a very nice pickup and would fit well in to this rotation. He's still moderately young, productive and ideal for the #3-#4 spot in the rotation. Ultimately however, I think he re-ups with the Angels.

This would be interesting. Granted, Pedro's a far cry from the pitcher he was in Boston, but I think he's still got just enough gas left in the tank to be a productive #4.

Hindsight is always 20-20 my friend. I'm honestly thinking the on-going Manny Ramirez saga is affecting Dunn. Once Manny re-signs, the market for Dunn SHOULD go up. If not, that makes the probability of him re-upping here even better IMO.

Gonna be a shame to see Huddy go. I thought last year, re-upping him was more of a priority than Byrnes. With Lopez signing here though, Hudson's return was officially shot.

Add Randy Wolf to the rejection list. I don't see why the D'Backs think that someone like a Garland or even Wolf would accept $4M. They are going to have to get a #4 or 5 via trade.

SI.com today posted that the Diamondbacks are still interested in Jon Garland (after kicking around the idea of Martinez and/or Schilling), unless they're running on week old information. Nick Piecoro of the Republic also mentioned that the team was talking to Braden Looper. Obviously Arizona is just trying to cast as wide of a net as they can and hope a free agent takes a one year bargain deal since the market this offseason is just so slow.

MLB Network just mentioned that the Dodgers are also looking at Garland, Looper and Wolf. I wonder if the Diamondbacks will still be able to get one of those three? I also don't think they are that great to make a big difference.

I am really hoping for Garland, he is the younger of the 3 and has been very steady over his career, perfect #3. His agent feels he will sign with a team within a week or two.
