The C spot has been the biggest weakness for the Suns in the past and it seems it will be in the years to come. But I wonder where Big Jake ranks amongst the centers who played for the Suns the past decade:

Mark West
Oliver Miller
Joe Kleine
Hot Rod Williams
Luc Longley

I would say when Miller was healthy I would rank him one, then the rest I dont really care about so they all tie for 2nd (last place to be exact) i guess

mark west did some good blocking back in the days, so he'd be #2.

Hot Rod at least was at one point in history of NBA the highest paid player, so #3.

And Kleine showed more emotion on the court, so here's #4.

Leaves Luc at #5.

But from a sport perspective...?!?!?!

At least Luc brought us a servicable center, or at least one better than him, a draft pick, AND money from those stupid Knicks who wanted him so badly! Plus he has three Championship rings, which I believe is one more than Bill Walton!!! :) That's all the good things I could think of about Luc Longley!

Greatest Sun's center ever is Alvin Adams! Look up the stats. Also, I believe Mark West was underated for the things he did that didn't show up on the stat sheet!

But Alvin Adams technically wasn't a center.

And that's what's sad about our history.

One of the Suns' best centers was Andrew Lang. He was moved out after four years in Phoenix in the trade that brought Barkley from Philadelphia, but he had started to show real promise in that fourth year: in 24.3 minutes per game, 7.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and a whopping 2.5 blocks.

He ended up becoming pretty respectable, albeit limited by injuries. His biggest year was '95-'96, which he began with Altanta and finished with Minnesota (in a trade that sent Christian Laettner to the Hawks). He played only 71 games, averaging 33.3 minutes, 11.7 points (!), 6.4 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks.

It must be said that he wasn't much of a passer. In a 12-year career, he totaled 424 assists, which is about how many Stephon Marbury has at the All-Star break of any given season.

Even so, I'd rank him above any of the five on that list, if only narrowly above Mark West.
