An interesting article on the changes that Ray Anderson is bringing about at ASU. Really hope that model will work here.

When college athletics administrators converged on Orlando earlier this month for the National Association of College Directors of Athletics convention, Arizona State seemed one of the week's hottest topics.
ASU had only a few months earlier tabbed former NFL executive Ray Anderson to be its new vice president for university athletics, and he had in turn plucked three high-profile executives from the NFL ranks to join him in the desert.
It seemed to some Anderson was trying to NFL-ize ASU or fit square pegs into round holes, but Anderson says he wasn't trying to plug his own people into an existing model. He was collecting the pieces needed to implement a new model, one likely to generate even more intrigue.
With a blend of collegiate and professional leaders, ASU is employing a pro sports model to boost its athletic future, essentially hoping to have the athletic department in Tempe humming along like a pro sports franchise.
