good god... they both assaulted the SAME women, the same night? freaking gross.

I'll be honest, a lot of how Goodell conducts business rubs me the wrong way, but he's dealing with a hell of a lot of freaking monsters, whether they get caught, have a fall guy, or get out of things simply because of who they are.

Two year ago, the 49ers starting 4 linebackers were Ahmad Brooks, Patrick Willis, Navaro Bowman and Aldon Smith. Arguably, the best set of linebackers in the NFL-- ever?

How things can change quickly.

Man that is really bad.

I agree about the commish. It's not an easy job.

If these guys do not start getting the message, he's just going to have to start doing lifetime bans. The NFL cant keep enduring these assaults against women. It's just not going to fly. Yes your hardcore football fans dont care but more and more groups are going to boycott and it's going to snowball.

Some people think the NFL is untouchable, and it may be, but in my opinion this stuff is going to take a toll eventually, plus regardless of that and more importantly, it just has to stop! As an organization the NFL and it's owners simply cannot tolerate this from it's players. I mean my daughters are getting older and how am I going to explain to them when it comes to; "Daddy why are you cheering for that guy? Isn't he the guy that raped and assaulted that girl?"

"Yea honey but he's a hell of a defender."

While slightly comical in theory, I'm not sure my conscience can live with that answer.

Lifetime bans probably is the only message these players might understand.

PFffttt..

He is paid extremely well to put in some all-nighters. No sympathy.

Furthermore, having too much work on his plate is no excuse for doing his job poorly.

No, not even close. Willis and Bowman are special, the other two aren't. Aldon smith without Justin Smith eating up blockers was wholly ineffective on his own.

Let's hope it stays in the Bay Area! Would love to see the 49ers be the worst team in the NFL

i dont want them to be worst -- those #1 picks in the right year can have a way of fixing a franchise for a long time

want you want: records like the Cards from 1980-200-ish

lots of 5 and 6 wins seasons. Bad, but picking 8th in the draft bad, not first

Yep. I've got 3 daughters aged 21 to 8. I'm more afraid for my oldest than my youngest.

I'd rather watch a watered down version of the game than some "monster" earn $20MM on the field while having his lawyers drag out trial dates so he can maximize his earnings before ultimately buying his way out of trouble.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the same incident that got Aldon Smith in trouble because the woman said she'd been drinking with McDonald and Smith, and Smith wasn't allowed to drink under terms of his probation?

If so, it got all 3 of them.

FYI one of the local rumors when Borland retired was that part of his lost that love for football stemmed from being around so many people who were so out of control.

I believe it was the same incident. With this sort of out of control behavior as well as Captain Pleaty Pants driving everyone into the ground, the mass exodus makes complete sense.

In all my years watching the NFL I have NEVER seen a team implode like the 2015 SF 49ers. I've been watching for well over 20 years. I've seen a player here and a player there on teams...I've seen injuries mess a team up...but never like the 49ers this year.

...and I'm loving it!

I agree with this but who knows?... there's a whole new set of rules these days. Certainly, it was going on and we just didn't hear about it. The fan in me says, "suck it 49ers" but the man in me says, "this kind of thing has to stop."
