Rays extend Zobrist up to 5 years, $30M (AP)

The Tampa Bay Rays have rewarded super utility player Ben Zobrist for a breakout season with a five-year contract extension worth up to $30 million. The club announced the agreement with the 28-year-old infielder-outfielder on Friday. The first three years of the extension are guaranteed. The team holds options for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
