I think it's a foregone conclusion that a RB will be selected in this draft. Who do you think, value-wise is the best pick for the Cards? I listed 10 guys and where they are likely to be drafted that the Cards will probably consider. I left out McFadden because he'll be gone.

As much as i like Mendenhall, i voted for Charles in round 2. I think he can be a Clinton Portis-type back.

Kevin Smith in RD 3. I think normally he might sneak into the low first round, or be a solid second rounder. In this year's draft, he suffers from the massive depth at his position.

I knew there was someone i was forgetting . I saw his name in another thread, Matt Forte. He's a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

I like Brown as well but he's more like a 5-7 round choice because of injuries. I was looking for guys that have a higher price tag with them.

If RB the is the way they go in round 1, then the kid from Illinois is the guy....I hope RB is a second round decision and a CB is the route they take.

Kevin Smith in round 2 is my choice if they have to take one. He won't last until the 3rd.

If we are sure we can get Charles in Rd 2 then take him and get a CB in 1...if not Stew or Men at 16 in that order

Wow!! He's got Cason as the top CB and F. Jones as the #2 RB. My kind of draft expert.:D
One things for certain. The Cards are going to get a great pick at 16. Makes me wonder why we never trade down.

I think he will simply because of the number of RBs I think most teams will have ranked ahead of him, including some I don't like nearly as much. I'd rather have Smith than Rice, for instance, and I would certainly like him over Charles. I don't want us to draft that kid in the first three rounds. I'd prefer going CB in the 1st if a good one is available, keep it open in the 2nd, and grab Smith in the 3rd. I'd be very pleased with that. If we could then get McGlynn in the 4th (don't think he'll last) I'd do backflips. Of course, I won't be heartbroken if we do get Mendenhall in the 1st, but I won't be overly excited either.

Where is Section 11 on this? He's usually spot on in picking running backs.

Even if the Cardinals take a running back early, if Ryan Torain is sitting there in the fifth or sixth round (because of the injury) I would pull the trigger and draft another rb. When completely healthy, I think he will be a very good NFL running back.

I still believe Stewart will be "the guy" this year.

He will be better than McFadden and Mendenhall, IMO.

He's having a bowl of goat.

Cbus, nice list. You make the choices hard by tying the RBs to a specific round. I go with Harry's theory if the guy you like is there, take him a little early rather than lose him.

So my choice is ... aargh ... can't make it until I see what other players at other positions are available when we are on the clock. That's a cop-out, I know.

All I care is that we get a RB good enough to contribute a lot right away.

Absolutely. There are a lot of good backs in this draft. So many that you can pass on one for a better prospect at a different position and be assured of finding a contributor for the first four or five rounds.

No time for speculation and guessing who'll be there at 50. Take Stewart at 16 and then work from there.
